I talked about this on the post-game show yesterday and it’s a small thing but I did not like the official scorer’s decision to use the “brief and ineffective” rule to not give the win to Roycroft. I understand the line on the box score was not great but of the 3 hits he gave up, 2 had very low exit velo’s (51.3 MPH & 65.4 MPH) and the hit probabilities on all 3 were all under 50% (24%, 46% & 27%). I feel like official scorers should only invoke “brief and ineffective” when a pitcher CLEARLY does not have it and that was not Roycroft yesterday. #STLCards
