I think maybe the disconnect for me is it doesn't feel meta enough.
'CLAYFACE' is going to get compared to 'THE SUBSTANCE' a lot, and a large reason why that movie worked is because of the meta commentary of casting Demi Moore as the lead.
With all due respect, I have no idea who this guy is.
