Occam’s razor exercise: — Mills basically had to be dragged into running by Schumer courting her for the better part of a year — She’s 78 and hasn’t been campaigning much — If she’s elected, she only pledged to serve one term — She praised Collins as recently as one year ago, seems like they are at least personally on good terms — She’s down ~2:1 to Platner in recent polls — She’s probably getting out-fundraised by Platner — Her campaign seems to have run out of fresh oppo against Platner — She’s skipping a debate Are we absolutely certain she wants to be a U.S. Senator?

The woman who was shot was a "middle-aged white woman" who was sitting in her car blocking the street because of federal law enforcement presence.

Simultaneously true that 1. we don’t know for sure what ABC would have done in the absence of Carr’s threats 2. it would have been perfectly fine to yank Kimmel for the reasons highlighted below 3. Carr’s threats to ABC and other broadcasters are a threat to First Amendment rights.

Removal of funding for enforcement of federal contempt of court orders is the actual crux of this spending bill. This is nominally aimed at removal of illegal immigrants, but obviously also enables many other abuses of power by the President. Should this be allowed?

CLARIFICATION: Rep. Melissa Hortman was the only Democrat to vote with Republicans to repeal MinnesotaCare for illegal immigrant adults. Sen. John Hoffman did not, but the bill still passed 68–65 in the House and 37–30 in the Senate.
