@mezohoshi Yeah it’s an interesting conversation tbh because I do understand your point. I think that when your brand finds itself imbedded in the culture like supreme/stussy then it’s hard to say it’s not streetwear. Or at least it became streetwear. The origin does matter though.

like ed hardy for example;
christian audigier intent behind making ed hardy was to be a streetwear brand.
to me thats like calling DGK a streetwear brand just bc niggas wore it. no, its just merch for skaters.

stussy was never tryna be a brand of clothes. he was a surf board maker who wanted to merch his autograph at comps. he eventually stepped down from the brand & sold cause it got away from its origins.
he is still making surfboards today.
