@TheProspectDon If the Sharks don't get Reid at 2, and we keep the Edmonton pick, I hope we get Bleyl. They had eyes on him all year since we have one Sharks already on Moncton, and Grier values skating for Dman very highly
English

Ethan Belchetz, one of the top prospects in the #2026NHLDraft, has announced his commitment to play NCAA hockey at Michigan State.
Big get for the Spartans (literally).
English

@carrothjslv3 @2MINIHULK Skating is a big strength of his. Would be great for controlled zone entries. Plenty of breakdowns of his game to form your own opinion.
English

@2MINIHULK I was arguing with someone yesterday about taking Reid at 2, and when I asked what his actual strengths are, they went quiet. Then others only started mentioning weaknesses like turnovers and skating issues. Feels like everyone’s just hyping him without really explaining why.
English

@_Quetzy_ @mackwinged @RlNTAKYU I would prefer building the blue line over taking Stenberg. Stenberg is another pass first forward which we already have too many of anyways. So whoever the sharks have on the top of their D list I would take. And then try and get Wyatt Cullen.
English

@JayONtheMIC @mackwinged @RlNTAKYU I'm sure every player in the first round has great traits & tools in order to be ranked there. But BPA, do you take Smits over Stenberg?
English

@mackwinged @RlNTAKYU Why? He played in the Olympics and held his own. I’m not a fan but he has the tools to be great.
English

@ibamboozIe Both Colorado and Vegas have to face less points to get to the conference finals after winning their division.
English

@AdamFly96727825 @ejmichele Cause Hughes and makar were consensus 1s taken at or before 2? By that logic the 3 forwards also don’t have consensus.
English

@ejmichele Just draft stenberg, there isnt a consensus 1 dmen in this draft
English

Ok so the collective answer seems to be “he’s better offensively”. I can maybe see that slight edge in offensive toolkit on paper, but then that begs the next obvious question: why didn’t he score more then? Why is his production so much lower than guys like Dickinson or Parekh?
EJ@ejmichele
Ok watched a little-but-not-a-lot of Reid and I still need someone to explain what justifies this difference in their projections. In fact, stylistically, even their defensive game is a bit similar — mobile, toolsy, check-finishing, occasionally positionally suspect. What gives?
English

@ejmichele Schaefer wasn’t much higher on a much smaller sample size plus didn’t have to go to juniors (where he raised his stock a lot)
English

@AdamFly96727825 @2MINIHULK So would you take a number 1 caliber d of the future for that?
English

I would prefer to take Reid for the long term outlook on defense.
I believe the Sharks will ultimately take Stenberg to better support Celebrini instead of having him carry the entire offense.
No wrong answers here.

English

Let’s pretend for a moment the leafs went with Reid at the #1 pick (I know they won’t but let’s pretend)
Yes I would still want the sharks to take Stenberg over Mckenna!
Not because Mckenna is bad… but because of what Stenberg does.
The line combo of
Smith-Celebrini-Stenberg is the PERFECT COMBO!
Image Celebrini and Stenberg both HUNTING PUCKS 🤤

@hockeyFanGOAT @gniknayrb @BarDown Muhk is kind of already on the fence with his lack of playing time. Hence why I threw 5 out there. But I’m not opposed to draft and then also trade but don’t force anything.
English

@JayONtheMIC @gniknayrb @BarDown I mean Dickinson and Muhk both played enough the be projected kiiiinda confidently in their respective role.
The only "unknown" here is Pohlkamp/LSW.
And anywat the same would apply to whoever they draft at D so ... why not trade one of their forwards for a stud guaranteed D?
Wendake, Québec 🇨🇦 English

@hockeyFanGOAT @gniknayrb @BarDown All projections with no evidence to back it up. The Forwards do have trending data they will be successful and potentially be top 6 for a number of them. Most of the d prospects haven’t played at all yet
English

@JayONtheMIC @gniknayrb @BarDown Naaa. Dickinson will be a good top 4. Between Pohlkamp, LSW and Muhk 2 can be decent #3,#4 options. They reallllly need a true #1 though.
Notre-Dame-des-Anges, Québec 🇨🇦 English

@hockeyFanGOAT @gniknayrb @BarDown Okay but you still need 5 d potentially moving forward to get into contention
English

@gniknayrb @BarDown You can also trade for a very good dman with a package of Eklund, pick 20, Musty, Bystedt ...
English

are you fucking kidding me
PMT Stats@PmtStats
You’ll never guess Dianna Russini’s answer. In front of Vrabel no less
English

@sekeresandprice @mattsekeres @justBlakePrice @frankcorrado22 @WallCentre What? They need rhd but let’s get Matthew’s.
English

"I don't think San Jose makes that pick (2nd overall) I think they use that to get better, sooner"
What Canucks assets would you trade to end up with the 2nd AND 3rd overall?
