@dieworkwear I worked for a logistics company. My boss went on a site visit to a shoe factory. One of the lines made white sneakers. At the end, the shoes were directed to one of two stations. One labeled the shoes for Stride Rite. The other labeled them for Tommy Hilfiger. Same shoe.

@Anthony31031912 @On3 @PeteNakos @Hayesfawcett3 You do remember he’s from Atlanta, right? Great opportunity to play in front of family and friends in his last year. Key has done that really well so far - bringing Atlanta natives back home.

Since the Atlanta Falcons are unveiling new uniforms, here’s my shortlist of college programs that feel overdue for a refresh: • Georgia Tech • Houston • Iowa State • Kentucky • Mississippi State • Rutgers • TCU • West Virginia Which program would you tackle first?

@DrAaronNew It's a recurring theme that Christian leaders seem to decide that they can have more than one woman. I feel for the mistress and the wife, and I'm sure hearing that 'everyone has sinned and fallen short' isn't very comforting to these deceived women.

@iStayWinning711 @JaredHalusGT If signing one good TE makes Harpring scared of competition, do we want him anyway? Not convinced that's the reason for the change.

@JaredHalusGT Harpring is the most painful one. He’s an NFL TE. He’s going to dominate as a pass catcher. If signing Corbo from the Ivy League for 1 season costs us Harpring then I have to wonder out loud for the 1st time: Is Brent Key fit to lead us?

@TopTierGT Out of left field but would fit a pattern: Nathan Burton. Tech grad, co-DC at Troy (who had a pretty good defense this year). Coached at Tech until Goof fired him, which I almost think of as a badge of honor.

Don’t mind the Godsey hire at all. Hiring Tech men does make it more likely they stick around. On that note, and with the story that Gideon is leaving, I’ll start the rumor for a name for DC: Nathan Burton.

@TomOwens67 @tbtb062 @RossDellenger Not quite accurate. "Work out a contract" = time limit, then you're right. "Work out a contract" = until contractually agreed upon buyout amount is paid happens all the time. Both are perfectly legitimate contractual terms. Key and GT did a mutually beneficial renegotiation.

@tbtb062 @RossDellenger What guaranteed contracts? I've not seen a single coach work out a contract in at least 10 years. Most leave for another school long before that or sign a new extension they don't finish out either. Brent Key at GT signed two extensions in just a few months.

Donald Trump on the state of college sports on Friday: “Colleges cannot afford to be paying the kind of salaries you’re hearing about. You’re going to have these colleges wipe themselves out. Something oughta been done and I’m willing to put the federal government behind it.”

@BattleCattleFan @MHver3 Re: Miami - Well, yes, because Virginia would have moved up with a win and bumped Miami out *by the rankings*. As for ND, the committee is horrible, but don't complain about getting beat out by Miami . Direct your disgust at Alabama. Seriously, losing to FSU?! -3 yards rushing?!

We literally have reports coming out about the playoff committee guaranteeing the ACC a spot in the playoff regardless of the outcome of the championship game. Collusion.

@ksugiuraajc “Logistical issues.” If only the Army or Navy had experience with transporting large numbers of soldiers and sailors. However could they figure it out? And there is tons of Army presence in Georgia (Benning, Gordon, Stewart, RIP McPherson) and a major Navy facility (Kings Bay).

In 2026, Atlanta will have a chance to bid for a future Army-Navy game. There are some major logistical issues involved, but both academies are interested in exploring the possibility. It would be such a great event to bring to Mercedes-Benz Stadium. ajc.com/sports/2025/12…

@ChrisVannini Out of curiosity: why is ND surprised the ACC touted Miami? If Miami makes the playoffs, the entire conference benefits monetarily. If ND goes instead, the conference gets nothing. Seems like the ACC had a fiduciary responsibility if you ask me.

I was shocked how hard the ACC went at Notre Dame, which is still a league member! I imagine ACC leadership felt it had to go to the mat for Miami after criticism from Florida State two years ago. It may have worked, but at what cost.
Jack Soble@jacksoble56

Bevacqua is furious with the ACC. "We were mystified by the actions of the conference, to attack their biggest business partner in football and a member conference in 24 sports. "They have done permanent damage to the relationship between the conference and Notre Dame."

As much as I disagree with what ND did yesterday, I think their AD has a very valid point here. The ACC Network (operated by ESPN) played the Miami-ND game on loop last week. That's an interesting move for a network that relies on ND basketball games to drive viewership.
Tyler Horka@tbhorka

Notre Dame AD Pete Bevacqua says the ACC did “permanent damage” to its relationship with ND for all of the anti-Irish playoff politicking the conference publicly leaned into in the lead up to the selection show. “We didn’t appreciate the fact we were singled out repeatedly.”

The ACC bit the hand (Notre Dame) that feeds them and now they have to deal with the consequences. To alienate your best most valuable business partner is the dumbest business decision you could ever make.
