@ItzSlickerz Day 1 patches might address bugs etc but they're not compulsory. So, if someone picks up one of the normal game discs, 20 years from now, it'll install fine. 007 First Light, however, will be near-useless unless, by some miracle, IO's servers are still up.

Most will play fine. A few, like Halo: Infinity and 007 First Light won't play past a point or won't play at all.

I have Resi Evil 2 on PS1 disc and, nearly 30 years later, I can still play it. But 007 First Light? Unless IO's servers are still up 30 years later, the disc will be useless.

Day 1 patches have become more widespread but, with a few rare exceptions, eg Halo Infinite, 007 First Light, the game will still work without them.
