Released in Italy 36 years ago today, Dario Piani’s Too Beautiful To Die! An in-name-only sequel to Carlo Vanzina's Nothing Underneath with an even more hyper-exaggerated portrayal of ‘80's Milanese fashion-model life shot through the lens of a demented MTV music video director.

@MarshallJulius This moment in the original tv episode has Jerry Goldmsith music too, but it wasn't written for the scene, it was "scored" from music he'd written for other episodes, or tracked as they say.

Though we hardly need a special reason or excuse to listen to Jerry Goldsmith's arresting, ingenious scores, to mark what would have been his 91st birthday, I propose we listen to nothing but JG all day, beginning with this fiendishly fabulous track from Twilight Zone: The Movie.

If any true crime tale was begging for the Netflix treatment, it was this one. Alas, while predictably polished—and irrefutably well-intentioned—this tepid three-parter feels much too cursory and one-sided to really dig deep into the myriad riveting layers of its topic. #JonBenet
