@janufooty @JustJB24_ Also aggressive market spending, beyond their means, may not be the most fiscally smart thing to do for Premier League teams.

@JustJB24_ Because it is a contrast in how the clubs and countries' backgrounds result in them being run Yes the Premier League gains it's quality through aggressive market spending And that's not how other leagues get better they have their own context

Finally a big name suggests what we have been echoing for ages People don't understand any context or detail for how La Liga is run. They also don't care for this context or detail.
Guillem Balague@GuillemBalague

Remember the following next time someone tells you @LaLiga is behind. @LaLigaEN just showed us its 24/25 numbers. A record €5.464 billion in total revenue. A record 17.4 million fans in grounds. €70 million profit before tax. Squad costs held at 70% of income. A league that lives within its means, but also one that is growing as well. Here’s what really doesn’t get said enough, although it might not be fully surprising. #LaLiga leads Europe in academy player market value. €1.46 billion. Ahead of the #PremierLeague. Those players represent 26.6% of LaLiga’s total market value. In England? 9.7%. LaLiga academy players play nearly 20% of all minutes in the league. In England, 13.5%. This is a league that develops talent, trusts it, and builds on it. 91% of those academy players are Spanish. The Premier League is a financial phenomenon. Of course it is, no one is pretending otherwise. But it spends more than double what it earns. Has been doing so for seven years. That should be worrying. A league that turns a profit, fills its stadiums, and leads Europe in growing its own? It sounds to me like it is a good way to run football. Things to improve: refereeing, VAR, the behaviour of fans (LaLiga has been fighting racism and discrimination, but even more has to be done), the departure of talent, more women involved in decision making at all levels.

@LaLigaMichael Clear penalty. Not sure on the red card. If you’ve already awarded the penalty then a yellow would suffice IMO.

Tie over for Manchester City? Thoughts on the penalty & red card call? I’m sure there won’t be disagreements among different fan bases. 😁

@LaLigaMichael I don’t remember much of Riquelme tbh, let alone Maradona. For me, Messi > Dinho > Rivaldo > Yamal.

@LaLigaMichael A classic example of this is the quality of strikers. If you leave Haaland aside, there isn’t a single striker that would make it to the top 20 of that era.

After a flying start Pak had done well to squeeze Ind in the middle overs with spin. usman, saim & nawaz were brilliant with thre spells respectively & managed India to restrict IND on 175 which looked 200+ in the start. Indian captain played an odi inn today which helped pak. India finished strong. Common Pak it’s your chance go get it 🇵🇰 #INDvsPAK

Exactly this. La Masia makes pros, and every top flight is studded with them. There are also lessons to be learned from Gai Assulin and Gio Dos Santos to Riqui Puig and Xavi Simons.
Diana Kristinne@DianaKristinne

For as long as La Masia has existed some players who you didn't want to leave have left. For as long as La Masia will exist some players who you don't want to leave will leave. Some of them make it big, some of them don't. It's fine, life goes on, more academy products roll up.

@Nealbackup Frankly the rules changes make it a meaningless comparison. Richards players most of his ODI career with a red ball. Sachin started off with red ball and played in an era with one ball and limited fielding restrictions. The modern ODI game is far more batsman friendly.

It’s difficult to compare era because I didn’t watch Richards and Sachin faced far more difficult conditions, but Kohli’s by far the most dominant ODI batsmen I’ve ever seen. Fact he’s still doing it is bonkers.

@buzzcitybridge @Nealbackup Easy to whack the ball when the pitches are flat and the boundaries short. Atleast ODI cricket still requires players to understand the concept of building an innings and tests your technique. T20 is great for entertainment but isn’t up there with the other two for overall skill.

@Nealbackup ehhh agree to disagree, there’s still many games that do have micromanaging but i do agree about the solo carry jobs being much more prominent tests i do agree with you, t20s i value more both entertainment and skill wise than ODIs but i watch all three formats regardless 😂

@F9Marc @DiceElDani Full back is the toughest position to fill globally. That’s why so many European clubs are converting CBs to fullbacks. It would be very shortsighted to sell Frey.

@DiceElDani So saying you can absolutely find a RB that fits the system isn’t as much of a shoe in as one might expect ,as both chelo and lujan didn’t meet expectations.

Inter Miami announcing the re-signing of Ian Fray is great… BUT let’s be honest: the time to sell him is RIGHT NOW. His value will never be higher than it is at this moment. Young, versatile, athletic, coming off his best run of form; this is exactly when smart clubs cash in. If Miami waits, they risk injuries, dips in form, or losing leverage. You can love a player and still understand business. And Fray’s ceiling + current market = a transfer window you cannot let pass. Miami needs to think long-term. This is the moment. Sell Fray now...or regret it later. #InterMiamiCF #Messi #MLS #TransferWindow #IanFray #MLSNextPro #DiceElDani

@WarPigsChief I want to know if he makes them money? Any true non Miami fan can't stand the guy or what MLS does making it all about him. The merch for casuals has to be insane. I can't explain it otherwise. All other fans hate him now and MLS's focus on him.

@mwprentiss @LaurelPfahler You realize that voting for some one who is miles ahead of everyone else in the league doesn’t make you ‘enthralled’ right? His numbers speak for themselves. This should’ve been unanimous.

TF is this? You can go to YouTube and find so many examples and compilations of Messi posterizing defenders 1v1 without even trying hard. Two of his best goals, v Getafe and Athletic Club, featured precisely this. Ask Boateng about his 1v1 dribbling. Lord, today.

What they will get by taking matches to that xenophobic shithole, is supporters of the respective clubs being happy because they can see their team without traveling to Europe. That's it. Played by geniuses, run by jackasses.

The frustrating thing about Liga thinking that just playing games in the U.S. will work, when pre-season tour after pre-season tour hasn't, demonstrates what idiots they are. Marketing is long-term and strategic. It's also realistic.

@MarceloNvz @AlexiLalas Out of curiosity, what did you expect him to do? Join the mess and try and stop grown adults from acting like idiots? Guess what the headline would be if he did that? ‘Lionel Messi joins mass brawl’. He can’t win with people like you because you will always find fault.

@AlexiLalas He was not the aggressor, he is just complacent about letting his buddies (all who he specified he wanted to bring over) literary attack people. They have always been consequence free, and yesterday was just the culmination so far. Do nothing then. Just see where that leads you

Messi isn't a problem for MLS, and he wasn't the problem last night. 70k in Seattle. He took loss like adult and respectfully stood while SEA was honored as champs. When he leaves, MLS will have a void, but MLS will be in a better place. There are no "real" fans...just MLS fans.
