What a song "One May Die So Lonely" is @JaymayMusic every time it comes up in my library. One voice, one guitar, so many words but they have so much rhythm and they all have an impact. I wind up singing along to the whole thing and it tells such a beautiful story

@JaymayMusic any chance you're currently performing somewhere? In nyc for the weekend and you have a song that means the world to my wife and I.

@jerrysaltz Anton Ego addresses/resolves this topic in the film Ratatouille: “...the bitter truth we critics must face is that in the grand scheme of things the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so.” Listen @ 2:53 youtube.com/watch?v=kuyUKd…

Criticism is very very different from art in one respect: Criticism is very here today but very gone tomorrow. Good criticism has a much shorter possible life-span as good art. A critic really exists in the present. Art is in the present but possibly time, too. Not criticism.

@jerrysaltz Yesterday I went to the sculpture garden in city park New Orleans. Some asshole put a “make assassination great again” sticker on a placard. Rage disgust, sadness and exhaustion abound...

Anyone else feel really exhausted from all the Republican violence? I think cities all over America are quiet today from this collective tiredness and fear of more Trump-Republican mobs. Your city?

@sarahcpr Without reflecting on it at all, the New Yorker in me just immediately thought “My Cousin Vinny.” Because, “da yoots.”

The NAM just awarded #TonyFauci a second citation -- the first in the history of the Academy of Medicine, for "outstanding service as a trusted advisor to six Presidents" and "firm leadership in the #COVID19 crisis" -- 1st ever to any scientist. Fauci: "I'm rendered speechless."

The DNC should really give AOC more time tonight. There aren’t many people who can cut through and convey a real message.

The US just had its worst GDP drop on record, and it would've been even worse if expanded unemployment benefits hadn’t pumped money into the economy. The Senate must fully extend the $600 CARES Act unemployment benefits for our families and our economy. twitter.com/SenWarren/stat…
NPR@NPR

GDP shrank at an annual rate of 32.9% in the second quarter — the sharpest economic contraction in modern American history. The economic shock in April, May and June was more than 3 times as sharp as the previous record — 10% in 1958. trib.al/Gbwtue0
