I still remember one of the end of year parties we had at Shell...over 100 staff.
I looked around and every lady under 40 was single.
The married ones were above 40 and had been married for a long time.
I am talking of about 25 or so ladies still single and rapidly approaching the age where reproduction becomes tricky.
I don't know what to make of this observation but it lives rent free in my head.

You will recall that I cancelled my trip to the G20 summit in South Africa to enable me coordinate the security efforts at home.
Thanks to the efforts of our security forces over the last few days, all the 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State have been rescued.
I am equally happy that 51 out of the missing students of the Catholic School in Niger State, have been recovered.
I am closely monitoring the security situation nationwide and receiving continuous updates from the frontline.
Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people.

FG open to selling Warri, P'Harcourt, Kaduna refineries to boost competition, says presidential aide Olu Verheijen, special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on energy, says the federal government is open to selling the refineries of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited. Verheijen spoke in an interview with Bloomberg TV on the sidelines of the ADIPEC energy conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday. The presidential aide said the consideration was part of an effort to boost competition in the refining industry. “It’s one of the options that you have to consider if you find the right technical partner with the right capital,” she said. Verheijen noted that the plants have largely been sustained by subsidies, saying “but now that we’ve removed the subsidies, we’ve removed the distortions in that market”.
