That still doesn't invalidate that someone gained access to the files due to the steam DATABASE leak whether or not it was a rogue dev or somebody with a early copy of the game and if it was in fact somebody leaking the token this is why giving early copies to Youtubers and journalist need to stop You can have game uninstall itself after a certain amount of time to prevent this if they want to continue this early access to these people

Sounds like the publisher's problem The game is in fact in a ready state to play they can easily change the release date because if you actually read the fineprint it does in fact say "subject to change" They would actually gain more players releasing the game to premium users because of this leak it has given them tons of free advertising business 101. its clear this was done on purpose to generate energy for the game and actually the steam sales have gone up due to the game being shown early

don't lecture me about "hurting the developers' lives." These are the same devs and publisher who have zero problem delisting entire Forza Horizon games (like Horizon 1,2,3, and 4) from stores, yanking DLC, and effectively revoking access for new players once car and music licenses expire. They built the game with an expiration date, milked it for years, then pulled the plug and left fans with nothing. That's not "protecting the franchise" that's anti-consumer greed that literally erases games from existence for people who want to play the old games. Yet when their own incompetence leaks an unfinished build early, suddenly we're all honorless POS for talking about it? Give me a break the real damage to devs comes from crunch, bad management, and corporate decisions at Microsoft Stop bootlicking a multibillion dollar company that treats its own products as temporary rentals and have no problem of taking the game away from you
