The "300 witnesses" line was sarcasm and I was being sarcastic But the real issue is the evidentiary structure around zina in traditional Islamic law. Because adultery requires four witnesses under the Qur'an (24:4), cases where intercourse is acknowledged but coercion cannot be proven, it can become legally complicated. In some historical implementations, this created situations where rape accusations were difficult to prosecute and sometimes backfired on the accuser. The point I was making is that being a woman under Sharia Islamic law, any crimes involving sex where they're the victim.. Historically they'd be hella cooked in reporting it. Historic examples: Safia Bibi (Pakistan, 1983) Zinah Ordinance imprisonment cases (Pakistan, 1980s-1990s) Somali rape case (2013) Amina Lawal (Nigeria, 2002) Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani (Iran, 2010) Granted these were public cases, who knows how many other such cases have happened
