And my partner's wage is far higher than mine because I'm a hamster with 'homemaker' on my resume, and he's a hamster with 13 years experience.

I'm a hamster, yes, and so is my partner, but he's on about 20k more.

If they are functionally the same, why do some people insist upon one over the other? The hunting rifle should be just fine, and less intimidating to others than the other.

@ninaturner If you don't understand guns, its probably not smart to comment on what guns people "need" when hunting. These 2 rifles shoot the EXACT SAME round a .223. You can take the same round fired in the rifle on the left and fire it in the one on the right. You're demonizing cosmetics.

@StoneyGuardian Why would someone be less intimidated by a hunting rifle than by a military-style weapon? Anything that big is going to hurt things it hits.
To my mind, open carry is open carry. And the best way to be less afraid of things is to expose yourself to them.

@JazhuStreaming Telling me that a person carrying a military weapon is hunting because they can use the same bullets is unlikely to change my reaction. Would I want hunting rifles casually carried about in public? Probably not, but that does not mean there is not a difference.

@JazhuStreaming I think it’s accurate and reasonable to use the term misandry within this context. There are lots of words that can appropriately describe this behaviour. Sexism is one. Misandry (whether conscious or not) is another

@PhilMitchell83 I understand, I just disagree with the term to use. I'd use sexism, simply because with both misandry and misogyny, I define that as 'hatred' towards a gender, in an active sense, rather than unconscious bias, which is far more unintentional.

@JazhuStreaming If you mean the ‘side’ that says there is misandry here there are plenty of people agreeing with that. Holding boys/men to a higher standard (certainly in this context) because they’re boys/men is misandry
