@Jbake117 @tomsan106 What?? Guess and check is a method for mathematical problem solving. Phonics, is reading/grammar. They aren't interchangeable between subjects.

The City where I was born, Bronx, NY, I am saddened to hear that the annual budget of $38 Billion USD spent on Education annually, has a 50% failure rate when it comes to Students passing a Reading Exams and a 70% failure rate when it comes to passing a Math Exam, along with, 1 in 3 Children, K-3, can not read at their grade level. NYC is lowering their Test Standards as a result. Apparently, there are entire School Districts where Kids can not read. This is obviously a much bigger problem that Money can not solve. Also, Child Obesity is out of control. I Pray for #NYC. 🙏🙇‍♂️🗽❤️
