Elite golf is usually now very expensive. But high-quality courses are still available for much more affordable prices. The Top 100 Courses in GB&I for £70 & Under illustrates that, with so much high-calibre and gloriously distinctive golf. One of my favourite lists to compile.

@AvantiWestCoast Just checking, do you think it’s acceptable to run a 5 hour train journey (Glasgow to London) that has no shop open because of a “fault”? I suppose the ticket was only £124 so I shouldn’t expect too much.

That’s true, Steve. Devious Wilson kept show on the road, but these were very shabby times & Labour + tactical accommodation to TU wildcat militancy accumulated a legacy which gave Thatcher mandate to reform them. TUC has never recovered. Plus a regrettable free market dominance

50 years since Feb ‘74 election..Wilson played it cleverly..issued a single statement in immediate aftermath saying Labour was ready to form a government.. told his shadow cabinet not to say a word.. sensed rightly Heath’s attempts to cling on would fail..Wilson became PM of minority govn by Monday evening..won a small majority in Oct and a referendum on Europe the following summer…epic politics.
