Just had an epiphany that Disney owns the merchandizing but not the character so the Disney Spider-Man movies are built entirely around “we need to sell 5 Spider-Man toys build the movie around this” and “we have GOT to put electro in this” but like an endless wall of notes

It’s not regular laziness, it’s not your normal studio interference, it’s not bold swings that don’t work out, it’s none of the normal issues that come with amateur writing, there’s nothing quite like them. Though I haven’t seen a lot of mcu recent stuff so I could be wrong

The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance was great but the part where John Ford himself stepped out into frame and started ranting about how much he hated Native Americans really rubbed me the wrong way
