If a filmmaker can't be bothered to respectfully answer a simple but important question about how their work relates to the reality of society outside the theatre they not only have no business making films with those themes, they don't deserve to be praised and awarded for them.

Here is the truth behind this: Blum House keeps their budgets low by not paying their leads much up front, but gives a percentage of the gross. The same goes for A24 and many other producers. Actors have a choice to do it, or not. Complaining isn't going to change their business model.

I keep seeing people upset that this headline is misleading. The funny part is that the article makes it much worse imo. But I guess it comes down to personal preference. She comes across as disingenuous to me. She seems to use the franchise as an ATM when her career isn't doing so hot and that's fine! But when you run around during promotion acting like these films are your oxygen and doing WAY too much both on screen and off, it rubs me the wrong way. I'm not a fan. That's just me though.
