I’m all for paying teachers more just so we can have a more selective hiring process. We are not putting the best people in the classrooms.

@theficouple Moved once nearly 30 years ago and it was a huge pain in the a$$ but for good reasons. If we moved again it would be a double pain for no purpose and now paid off. I’m not hoarding anything, just happy where I am and still need a place to live.

Baby boomers aren't selling their homes & why would they? They paid $90,000 for a home 25+ years ago, owe $0 & have $550k+ of equity. "Downsizing" means they'd need to buy something for $450k + take on a 6% loan. Many won't move & this will keep inventory low.

@legallymom2 This could be solved if there was an age cutoff where kids had to be accompanied by an adult companion (either guardian or paid airline escort) who would have to be seated adjacent to the child.

I had an aisle seat today, and 2 boys aged 2 and 4 sat next to me - window and middle. The parents sat together in the row in front of us. It was a 5 hour flight and the kids were acting up from the start. Parents were oblivious to what was going on and were enjoying sitting alone. The guy across the aisle from me felt bad for me and said something to the parents. The parents reply was “ we all paid for our tickets”. I am generally okay with kids on planes, but the parents should have split up and each sat with a kid.

@HUSTLELIFE2 @Ang_3978 Just to clarify, none of that is accurate. You’re right that PTO doesn’t have to be used unless he wants to be paid however since the only obligation is unpaid time off. Jurors are typically responsible for parking so many arrange for rides.

@Ang_3978 So his job has to pay him for jury duty its by law no matter the state and he shouldn't have to use PTO its called jury pay the same way your job has to pay you if you go VOTE during working hours and parking should be validated

Jury duty is such complete BS!!! My son is on his 2nd full week. The State just rested so there is at LEAST another 2 wks! He’s used all his PTO. Parking is $14/day & pay is $20/day. During questioning he said it would cause financial hardship. They don’t care 😡
