If Iran fires on it: that is Iran starting a new conflict. Trump is responding defensively, not attacking. No new War Powers clock starts because the US did not initiate hostilities. Iran did.

Thanks, Cern, I was waiting for the debate to start.😉 You are right to point out the risk. This is why I think this law is very unwise (like many things the US does with respect to China... see the NVidia train wreck, or the rare earth disaster...). However, I do not think China will ban FSD. China's industrial power is so huge, so enormous, that even if Tesla starts to scale unsupervised, before they could really take out the other players, XPeng will have caught up and will start scaling. In other words, China's economic and industrial momentum is so powerful that they do not need to use regulatory tactics to block Western competitors. They may slow them down a bit (like they do now for FSD, asking for a new approval for each new FSD build), but they do not need to outright ban them. XPeng already started licensing its tech to other OEMs (see VW, VW in name only...). It will expand to other companies. The volume of cars they can produce when they join forces will dwarf whatever Tesla can do. Tesla will get a share of the pie, a fair one, but Chinese players will be dominant.
