I’m grateful to everyone who’s joined us along the way, including newcomers through @legiondotcc. We still have a long way to go, but @session_app proves that we can build communication tools that aren't centralized or surveilled and that privacy is the foundation of a decentralized future.

So, we pivoted. We focused on making Session not just a proof of concept but a robust, standalone app. By 2024, over a million people were using it monthly, supported by a network of more than 2,000 community-run nodes. From being used as a source of secure communication during the Mahsa Amini protests to hearing about strangers in my own city using it, the journey has been surreal.

Apple silicon (ARM64) builds for @session_app desktop coming very soon👀

This is wild... One way to prevent it could be to require a majority of group admins, or even members, to approve new invitees before they get read/write access. Groups V2 in @session_app makes this kind of control much easier to implement.
