@jkirk___ @senoraCMT Utah is currently trying to pass similar laws. I just emailed 15 Utah Representatives with clear and concise reasons why these types of legislation are a bad idea. Their responses are encouraging. Here’s hoping they will stay true to their word. 🤞🏻

My husband died two hours ago. I never understood why anyone immediately went on Twitter with this kind of news until it happened to me. He coded 15 minutes after I talked to him - out of nowhere.

@ajattanasio1 @flyingmonkey13 Anthony, when we went online in the spring I worked 14-16 hour days putting up online curriculum and correcting every student’s work one by one. As did most of my colleagues. Where did you get the idea that teachers aren’t working when classes are online?

I think all non-educators chiming in on how kids should all be back in the brick and mortar, social distancing, should be added to the substitute registry.

I took my students on a field trip to the local university to attend a language class. Near the end, the professor began to explain something in English. Suddenly one of my boys called out “¡No inglés!” The professor was shocked to hear the kids wanted only Spanish. So proud! 🙌

@FilipescuAlina Thanks for the clarification. I do rejoinders and they seem to be going well, but the kids always use the same ones. I’m thinking of trying your idea to see if it helps them branch out.

@JenGuiver At the beginning of the year, I give 2-3 rejoinders. I give the same one to 2 Ss. Every week or so I introduce 2 more rejoinders. At the end of the period they give it back to me. At the beginning of the period I have 3 Ss pass them out.
