@AsheWindsor @LinkofSunshine I actually lived for many years in a red state. Glad to be out of that hell hole. But I can easily see how retards like you like to project your own failures in life onto strangers online because it soothes the hurt of being this much of a loser.

@JenPeyton @LinkofSunshine Okay so you admit the young men you interact with irl are normal. Thanks for proving my point. And yes, I’m very aware many blue staters believe everyone who isn’t from their state is a Trump voter because they have no accomplishments or anything personally to be proud of.

@NancyRPearcey Prolly cuz they're surrounded by less educated men who are all addicted to drugs, online gambling, and Manosphere podcasters.

@AsheWindsor @LinkofSunshine Nah, the young men I interact with in real life are smart educated dudes raised in one of the most liberal states (proud to be from Maryland). The ones online do seem to be missing parts of their brain though.

Narrative violation alert. Men 18-29 are about as likely to call themselves conservative as women 30-44. Young people of both sexes are more liberal than ever. Only 24% of 18-29 say we should return to traditional gender roles, less than any other group.

@Finn000000000 @avidseries That's because there is no such thing as a real trad wife. It's a made up fantasy. If you read a history book (or ask your grandma) women have always had jobs as farmers, housemaids, teachers, etc. Only the wealthy elite women could afford not to work.

Personally I don’t have strong feelings on ‘trad wives’ either way. To me it’s just a flamboyant display, sometimes wholesome & fun, maybe a bit silly, possibly female-female competition. However, it’s important to note that study was essentially a survey of people who were NOT married to trad wives. So we should not extrapolate that the husbands of actual trad wives are sexist or oppressive.

This doesn't surprise me, at all. "[Researchers] originally predicted that protective paternalism would be the strongest predictor of favorable attitudes [toward a tradwife]... Instead, hostile sexism emerged as the strongest predictor of whether a man liked the tradwife movement. Men who scored high in openly resentful attitudes toward women tended to view the tradwife lifestyle very positively." So you're saying that sexist men who are hostile to women want to control them and limit their life options? What a shock! I would largely agree with these men: "A small number of men recognized [the tradwife movement]... as a glorified aesthetic rather than a practical way of living."

A new study reveals that young men who support the so-called tradwife movement are driven more by hostile sexism and resentment toward women than by a chivalrous desire to protect and provide for them. dlvr.it/TRpqJZ

@Rianstone Try not wanting women to be subservient domestic slaves and no one will accuse you of misogyny and hate 🥰🥰

@LinkofSunshine The “young men are sexist” thing was to shift blame for the state of US politics and for 2024. The narrative has to be that it’s all men’s fault and men hate women, then we never have to address democrats’ failings or lack of a platform. Gender war to distract from class war.

My very second-hand observation based on my interactions with young urban Indian zoomers. They get all their manosphere talking points from Discord and related forums but in practice they're not sexist at all. Their fathers are much likelier to hurt women than them even if they love to talk trash about women. All sizzle, no steak.
Jerusalem@JerusalemDemsas

That young men are sexist and hate women and are increasingly conservative has become one of those stylized facts of public debate. But is it even true? Maibritt Henkel looked into the question for @TheArgumentMag, using our original polling: theargumentmag.com/p/the-bros-are…

@RichardHanania @ScottMGreer Probably because any woman talking about gender roles nowadays, is mainly just, "men pay for my stuff and approach first." Completely self-serving. What could men possibly gain from returning? Are we gonna be able to slap women around?🤨

@RichardHanania I think most people practice “traditional gender roles” even if they don’t like how the term sounds.

@RichardHanania @razibkhan That doesn’t mean anything. Plenty of conservatives are feminists and they intuitively understand a woman’s fake job is a welfare check for themselves.

"Only 24% of 18-29 say we should return to traditional gender roles, less than any other group." I think they mean they don't want women returning to traditional gender roles because I'm fairly certain 99% of women still expect men to live up to their traditional gender roles when it benefits them a.k.a chivalry.

@bjames280961 @M_J_Schofield @PsyPost Wtf are you talking about? If those men and women got out the mines you'd be the FIRST one crying because you have no idea how to do those jobs either. Deep down you know that YOU rely on other men (and women) to provide you with your comforts.

@M_J_Schofield @JenPeyton @PsyPost Yes. And she didn't say that when those men have quit, she'd be the first up the pylons and down the mines. Because, deep down, she knows she wouldn't, and she also knows neither would any woman. She'd just do her nails and wait for another man to provide her with her comforts.
