The Man in the Red Bandana On every 9/11, we remember the heroism and bravery of Welles Crowther. A lacrosse player at Boston College, Welles had experience as a volunteer firefighter, and gave his life saving as many as 18 people on that fateful day.

A reminder my heart and mind both need today: This life is not about me. It’s about joining hands with Jesus to fulfill whatever tasks He sets before me and to share His love with all He brings my way.

To me, the real miracle in a long marriage is not so much the staying together because you can stay together with hearts miles apart. The miracle is the falling back in love. Over and over and over. You can’t know what Keith Moore and I have been through. Nor can I know what you’ve been through. But I know this: our marriage is one long drawn-out, snail-slow, limp-along, nope again, hope again, maybe, baby, extended release, sweat and tears mighty work of God. I have a grateful heart this morning.
