People don't even realize that they are repeating Regan era propaganda. When they relate min wage to being specifically for teens or "starter" jobs, rather than a standard wage for living.

The minimum wage is meant to be the lowest wage you can live on and afford housing. So, for everyone saying "it's not meant to be that," yes, it is. That's why it's called the minimum wage.

New Orleans elected a Black man, but the governor eliminated his position, denying him a seat. Where have we seen this before?
In November 1868, John Willis Menard became the first Black person elected to the U.S. House of Representatives winning Louisiana’s 2nd Congressional District. White people prevented him from taking office.
The only Black governor of Louisiana, P.B.S.. Pinchback, was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1873 but was denied his seat.

Crazy how in 2006 when the voting rights act came up for re-authorization every single republican voted for it. Then obama is elected and the next time that act came up for re-authorization every republican voted against it and just 10 years after he leaves office, conservatives have successfully gutted the entire legislation.
The cornerstone of republican politics is racism and its the only reason why they still have support today because there is 0 reason why the current administration should still have any support.

I do not understand what billionaires think the final outcome of all this is. If nobody has a living wage, they cannot buy your products, pay for your services, or rent the properties being owned and hoarded. At that point, does the whole thing not just collapse?

They’re doing the same thing to sports they did to music education. Many of the greatest musicians to ever live first touched an instrument at SCHOOL. That became an opportunity for the poor to move up socioeconomically. Especially Black kids.
Same can be said for what And1 league was. Cities taking hoops out of neighborhoods, creating private schools to recruit from, etc. All of it is to control the opportunities for poor kids and kids of color to get educations or access to wealth.
It’s that deep.
