I am enormously proud of my daughter @israhirsi. She has always led with courage and compassion, from organizing a statewide school walk out on the 20th anniversary of Columbine at the age of 15, to leading the biggest youth climate rally at our nation’s Capitol at 16, and now pushing her school to stand against genocide. Stepping up to change what you can’t tolerate is why we as a country have the right to speech, assembly, and petition enshrined in our constitution.

Just got out of jail after Columbia called NYPD to mass arrest 100+ students. I have been suspended and evicted from housing by Barnard. This has only strengthened my commitment to the movement for Palestinian liberation and I promise to continue fighting for divestment.

NYC actually subsidizes turning its neighborhoods into a traffic sewer. If you, partner, and two kids want to take a bus or subway into Manhattan, you pay $23.20 plus $28 in LIRR tickets. But if you drive your SUV in from Long Island, you pay $0 today. Completely backwards!
