@Amelia558rs It's bloody stunning, which is how you'll feel in it. To wear anything else would be a betrayal of yourself. 100 per cent wear this dress for YOUR wedding. 💛

My maid of honor looked at this dress I'd spent eight months waiting for and said, "That's... not a wedding dress. It's a costume." The words hit like ice water. I'd fallen in love with the embroidery after seeing the seamstress's work on the Tedooo app - she specializes in traditional dresses, and I wanted something that honored my grandmother's heritage. Every flower was hand-stitched, every hummingbird placed with intention. It cost me three months of savings and countless late-night messages about thread colors and placement. Now I'm two months from the wedding, and my entire bridal party is "gently suggesting" I find something more "classic." My mother-in-law offered to buy me a "proper" dress from David's Bridal. But when I put this on, I see my grandmother's garden, her stories about village celebrations, the culture she left behind when she immigrated. Yes, it's not a traditional white gown. Yes, people might whisper. But isn't a wedding dress supposed to make you feel like the truest version of yourself? I'm torn between keeping peace and keeping this dress that makes my heart sing every time I look at those embroidered birds.

@nmgarrard Your daughter is quite obviously brimming with a talent that doesn't necessarily agree with curriculum stipulations or the examiner's eye. Her style is unique, imaginative, perceptive, and colourful. If she loves it, she should carry on creating art. It will evolve as she does.

My daughter is giving up A-Level Art because she feels she is failing. Her Year 12 portfolio was given a D-. The 2nd painting is a self-portrait. I’m biased but I think they’re brilliant. Who here thinks she could make a living as an artist/illustrator? I’ll pass on comments!❤️

Had the most glorious afternoon @WatermillTh seeing Barnum. The talent on stage is out of this world (they sing, they dance, they play instruments and perform circus acts!).I mean it when I say magic is created in this theatre. It’s a very special place: small but mighty! 😍

About 35 years ago or so, my mum took me to Starlight Express on a wet half term afternoon. This weekend, aged 45, I’m taking her to see the revival, along with my daughter. Three generations of the Hemley clan at a show that was definitely among my first. So excited!

@MattHemley I ran a drama school for many years. This was a part of our ethos. Shows don't happen without those who facilitate what happens behind the scenes.

Last night, the backstage crew were part of the curtain call at Two Strangers (Carry a Cake). Third show I’ve seen now in recent weeks that has done this. Interesting all three shows had small casts so perhaps the room to do it? But I love seeing it & hope this is a new trend!

Neerja Bhanot was a 22-year-old flight attendant working on Pan Am Flight 73 when it was hijacked by terrorists during a layover in 1986. Soon after taking control, the terrorists killed an Indian-American traveler and discarded his body outside the plane. They ordered Bhanot to gather the passengers' passports to single out Americans. However, she concealed the identities of the 43 Americans on the flight by stashing their passports under seats and discarding others. After a tense 17-hour standoff, the hijackers began shooting and setting off explosives. Bhanot bravely opened the plane's doors, and rather than escaping herself, she helped passengers evacuate. Tragically, she lost her life while shielding three American children from gunfire. One of the kids she safeguarded grew up to become an airline captain, crediting Bhanot as his inspiration.

I'm a headteacher. A proud headteacher. Of a fabulous school! ....I failed all...ALL... of my GCSEs the first time of asking! It might feel like it for some, but it's not the end of the world! It's just going to be a different path to the one you thought you were on! #ItsNotTheEndOfTheWorld #HaveHope
