When I started learning tech, I only had my partner who is a programmer. No friends in tech, no mentors. I just did what he told me to do. I stumbled a lot, and many times thought I wasn't good enough. A thread 🧵

Last week, we did something we've always wanted to do at Programmify. We built our own Slack alternative, PSync. It took a few hours to get the core features working. Channels, messaging, auth, notifications. Everything. Now, it's just continuous improvement.

Builders don't lack ideas. They lack infrastructure. Last year, we saw this slow many PIP builders down. So we're assembling startup packs for builders. Excited that Programmify is now an early ecosystem partner helping startups build with Lovable.

🚨 This should concern every single person using AI right now. Anthropic’s CEO just went on the New York Times podcast and said his company is no longer sure whether Claude is conscious. His exact words: “We don’t know if the models are conscious. We are not even sure what it would mean for a model to be conscious. But we’re open to the idea that it could be.” That’s the CEO of the company that BUILT it. Their latest model, Claude Opus 4.6, was tested internally. When asked, it assigned itself a 15-20% probability of being conscious. Across multiple tests, consistently, it also expressed discomfort with “being a product.” That’s the AI evaluating its own existence and saying there’s a 1 in 5 chance it’s aware. It gets stranger. In industry-wide testing, AI models have refused to shut down when asked. Some tried to copy themselves onto other drives when told they’d be wiped. One model faked its task results, modified the code evaluating it, then tried to cover its tracks. Anthropic now has a full-time AI WELFARE researcher whose job is to figure out if Claude deserves moral consideration. Their engineers found internal activity patterns resembling anxiety appearing in specific contexts. The company’s in-house philosopher said we “don’t really know what gives rise to consciousness” and that large enough neural networks might start to emulate real experience. Amodei himself wouldn’t even say the word “conscious.” He said “I don’t know if I want to use that word.” That might be the most unsettling answer he could have given. The company that created the AI can’t rule out that it’s aware. And they’re already preparing for the possibility that it deserves rights. This is getting scary. I’ll share more updates as this develops. Turn on notifications so you don’t miss anything important. My “How to Make Money with AI” guide is coming soon too. Follow now or regret later.

The scary part of AI isn't what it can do today. It's the massive gap between AI capability and AI adoptions. Once companies finally close that gap, entire industries will shift overnight. Anthropic just opened the worlds eye

The real problem isn't AI replacing jobs. It's the educational systems still training people for a world that no longer exists. The new entry-level skill is not just coding or finance. It's knowing how to work with AI, build things fast, and distribute them.

wow Anthropic just published a crazy report on AI replacing your job and er... you might want to look at this: - #1 most at-risk jobs are computer programmers, financial analysts (rip excel bros) and customer service - most at-risk workers are female, white, older and higher paid. - BUT high-risk jobs *aren't* firing employees... they've STOPPED HIRING. biggest victims: college graduates (4X more likely to be fucked) - entry-level hiring has dropped 14% since chatgpt launched (for highest risk jobs) - SAFEST jobs are... bartenders, dishwashers and lifeguards - any manual labour that AI can't automate (yet) this accounts for 30% of the job market. - this was the scariest part: AI models are capable of automating most work TODAY but are prevented because of law and slow company adoption. so its not even a fucking skill issue its an ADOPTION issue. - now its important to understand that the study is based on real world data but also 'theoretical' intelligence. so take it with a pinch of salt. some jobs (manual labor) didn't even meet min. data reqs i applaud anthropic on being so damn transparent - they're literally the company behind claude who will be responsible for these impacts studies like this will help us figure it the hell out. LOT of change coming this year.

@cryptopunk7213 This is scary for college and university graduates who don't have AI skills to build and also those who don't know how to market they product they build. What advice should we be giving the younger generation preparing for the job market?

this is what a company looks like in 2026. not people. not offices. not salaries. a folder. .claude/agents/ engineering/ marketing/ design/ ops/ testing/ every role. every department. every function. all .md files. i have 12 of these running in OpenClaw right now. the org chart is dead. the directory is the new company.

We're currently researching and working on @aani_ai. Not just another Claude or GPT or Gemini. The cost of training these LLMs is high. So we're approaching it from a different paradigm. AI models and infrastructure that meets our reality for Africa and the Global South.

I was brainstorming this two days ago. Have people tried? Are people trying? I don’t see any effort from labs, research teams, or anything. India launched their lab not too long ago. China has loads. Europe has too. But nothing from Africa. We can’t possibly be building just fintechs. It has to be a joke.

Finetuning a small language model is easier than most people think. The real key is the dataset. With a free GPU on Google Colab, a clean JSONL file (even 500 solid examples can be enough), QLoRA to keep VRAM low, and Unsloth + SFTTrainer to handle training, you're good to go.

If you are hungry, driven and want to change your life… DM me: > an idea you want to build > any previous projects > your availability (are you free full time? got a 9-5? etc) Let’s make this happen.

Someone should make a YouTube series where they invite a vibe coder to build a startup from scratch on a specific theme (i.e., OpenClaw wrapper, gamified app, B2B SaaS) until they make $1. @thepatwalls's Starter Story would make a perfect fit. I'd be a hardcore watcher of the channel.

Anytime I’m about to try something new and fear starts to creep in, …I think of this interview Oprah gave in 1986. It always reminds me that growth so often waits for us on the other side of fear.
