My asoebis are mostly decent, however too complex for a 3-hour service. First and second frame, I never rewore. Never saw an occasion to. Third, I rewore once cause as you see in the background it was an anniversary in church that Sunday. 4th frame however, gave me full return for my money. I wore and wore and wore, because it’s ankara. I still stand that it’s more of a material problem than styling. Most Sundays, I just want to fling something simple on and go my way. The heaviness and complexity of the fit doesn’t help matters, especially where you’re not mobile. (Even if it were iro and buba)

If I can’t comfortably wear the style to church, I don’t sew it for parties. That’s another reason you guys can’t wear your asoebi to church. Your bodies aren’t covered

This went on for weeks. One day, he suddenly asked me, "Bịa this girl, is it that blood does not run through your veins? Are you telling me all these things are not moving you?” I looked at him and said," What are you talking about sir?" He replied, "So you do not know what I am talking about? Ọkwa ya?" I said, "Yes sir, I do not know." He just looked at me angrily and said, "Before you leave today, take your desk back to where it used to be. Nonsense girl. Ewu. See her rubbish face." The man insulted me so badly. By then, I had already started coming to work with a bread knifê in my bag 'cos I no longer felt safe around him. I collected my salary at the end of the month and quit. God Pvnish en left scrotum!!!!

I was 19 when I entered university. Before then, I worked for this man. A few months after I resumed, he asked for my desk to be moved into his office. He said he was tired of always calling out to me whenever he needed something done. It felt awkward, but I went along with it. After some time, he started playing love songs in the office. Then it moved to romance movies. Before long, he was openly watching pørn while I was there working. I would intentionally put on my earpiece, increase the volume & continue working on the computer like nothing was happening.

It’s more of a material problem Men’s aso ebi material is more often than not, Senator or Atiku, which is versatile enough to accomodate - Friday at work, - Sunday at Church, - Subsequent Owanbes - Even date nights. Female aso ebi material is typically lace. And there lies the issue. Many a time they are not functional for rewear purposes. Definitely not to work on Friday. Perhaps one Thanksgiving Sunday when extravagant attires are worn and that’s it. I agree that styling adds to the issue, but fundamentally, it’s a material problem.
Oṣóyínká 🪔@sledge_baba

The major problem here is styling. Women often pick the dress styles and sew their aso ebi with only that particular event in mind. No way you're rewearing a heavily beaded corset with open cleavage to work. That's why Men's aso ebi will always retain its value, even 2 years after the event.

This is a lie sha, people are registering and it's not like we don't want to boycott but till you apply for a job and see "must have completed NYSC". Na why we dey go, no be say e get one prospect like that🤌
Technical Ben@TechnicalBben

Nysc is experiencing low registration because 1. people are starting to value their lives more. 2. It's super expensive. 3. No guaranteed job afterwards. 4. Most are already switching to getting skills instead of getting killed. Love it for everyone that is boycotting. 💜🤲🏾

Randomly remembered 2020 Benefit boys today. Those boys oppressed people. They used Covid-19 period to learn fraud and they really made money. Where are they today? Prison. Dead. Some struggling to feed. No matter how much you justify fraud. It’s not a good way to earn a living.

Lawyers don’t say “I don’t know.” We say it in slower, more billable ways like: “It depends” and “Let me look into that and get back to you.”
