For Sativa Thompson, returning to her home state with NCRERN reminded her why she started in rural research. “Good research starts with a good question. The best questions are formed when you understand and care about the communities you’re working in.” lnkd.in/eegzEy3K

@Tichavakunda I'm not gonna lie, I'm also mad that all the Slytherins are evil. I always test Slytherin (but maybe Ravenclaw rising) and Slytherins are dope and she never shows that!! But also only thru Book 6 so no spoilers please!

@Tichavakunda So like a true Ravenclaw, I read a book and then I watch the movie. Systematic. It's actually been super fun (terrible?) to read now after JK Rowling showed her TERF dark side. Books are super problematic but the critiquing in disbelief is half the fun

@EMJWriting Jealous you stayed in town. I grew up in white lady camp culture and thought I could handle. But it was ROUGH. I did chat with some super lovely staff from there who saw the ugly guts of it and was doing their best to make it better. A small silver lining of the venue...

Happy to share our new piece on the implementation of full-service community schools in rural Leslie County, KY - and even happier to have had a chance to meet and learn from the incredible educators making it happen. @FullSchools @PartnersRural @CommSchools

@shannonrholder Coordinated time off within at least your work team is so helpful. I can imagine that would be so so hard in your field when everything is so important/newsworthy. I hope you just take that week though

@tressiemcphd Maybe social workers tho? Lol I can't even propose this idea without low key shading other disciplines. I know I'm part of the problem 🤣

@tressiemcphd I feel like what we actually need is a couple of trained therapists/facilitators to bring all the social science/applied science/humanities folks together to actually hear each other and how to integrate each other's tools to really understand and improve life for people

@AngelJonesPhD Gilead, I think? But it doesn't mean we're not on a road straight towards it. My credit card got with plenty of credit on it got rejected while traveling a few weeks ago and my heart skipped a beat. Thankfully it was just travel protection!

I’ve seen at least 100 comments comparing the issues in this country to The Handmaid’s Tale. Which is worse, Gilead or the U.S.?
