How do we allow this to happen in America? How is a 12-year-old boy left on the streets for days on end with no help offered? California had over $24 billion go unaccounted for that was dedicated to the homeless. NGOs and nonprofits receive millions for the homeless, yet the problem just gets worse and worse while children often get pulled into these horrific situations in places like Skid Row. Our tax dollars should go towards helping others instead of enriching the pockets of NGOs and nonprofits who often enable the situation to get worse.

The whole “ableist” thing is such a cop out. Particularly for fiction writers. There is no hope of writing anything good if you don’t read lots of great writing from the masters. Reading is essential to being a competent novelist. You can’t just randomly generate it alone.
