@devanshmehta are you still at fosdem? would be curious to hear more about the talks

The first batch of sessions i attended were around digital public infrastructure
Given the EUs ongoing divorce with the US, they are diversifying away from US tech jail towards open source alternatives. For eg, their offices stopped MS office & started libraoffice!
If the movement picks up steam, several ideas we've been working on for ages become immediately relevant;
1. Creating software that doesn't depend on user lock in or selling their data
2. Ensuring government funded digital infra is open source so that many SMEs can work on it & earn a living. Interestingly, they are arguing that OS software is culture and should be funded as arts, theater etc rather than as done currently via industrial partnerships or deals
Our funding mechanism work dividing money b/w many contributors would be immediately needed if the digital public infra budget goes high
3. Finally orgs like digital public goods alliance and even GitHub gave a presentation for assessing maturity of a codebase, categorising it as eligible for digital infra money
We should apply for such licenses! There is no reason why Ethereum related public goods like solidity, vyper, etc shouldn't qualify, esp if they need evm stacks or governance solutions

At my first ever (non crypto) open source conference! Fosdem is going on for 20+ years, and i suspect our conferences might also follow their low overhead format; 1. No registration! just show up 2. Book out university classrooms 3. No free food, everyone pays their own way

capital formation and velocity have been 2 of cryptos most interesting use cases, it only makes sense that these innovations will translate into capital markets

The worst thing for a beginner is to be massively right for the absolutely wrong reasons.
