@JeremiahWindell @JasonSchley It might be an over simplification but I've seen research trials from several states, and not all in the midwest, where 50lb N yields the same or more as 200lb N. A lot more to yield than N.

We have proved out over the past two years, that N rates and yield have almost nothing in common. The real question is how low can you go? Each day / and or event the plant feels stress it takes xx additional lbs of Nitrogen. Figuring that part out will be the next big step in creating an excellent N recommendation.

@JasonSchley If you looked at yield by OM contribution it would. I agree with your statement and it makes sense with how most apply N today. There are many things that need to be considered in N rec today that most don’t use. Mineralization, N loss, potential, N need for grain plus stover.
