In this new paper, co-authored with Mathias Schmitz and @MarineRougier, we present the Brief Reverse Correlation. This improved version of the tool aims at measuring visual representations of social groups but opens the way to using individual images !!! @JeremyCone2 @easpinfo

@chris_starmans I like searching up small towns and seeing that they are known for: Alliston is "celebrated by the annual Alliston Potato Festival" My home town is known for operating "two sour gas processing plants" (Fox Creek, AB, population 1,792)

28 years ago, I dropped out of high school in small town Canada. After much meandering, 16 years ago I got a BA in psychology & philosophy, moved to NYC to do research, and decided to try this grad school thing. 9 years ago I got a PhD from Yale... and today I got tenure at @UofT! Super grateful to so many people who inspired and helped me along the way, especially @paulbloomatyale & @Ori_Friedman, Josh Knobe (@xphilosopher), UofT friends @amysuefinn & Jessica Sommerville (@tecl), & Yale friends @alia_martin, @beckyfortgang & @chazfirestone ... & so many more.

Effective today, I am a (tenured) Associate Professor. From a confused engineering major to a 12-year gap before grad school, its been a long journey. But I couldn't be happier in this job. I've got amazing students, and I love what I study. I'm glad to be here.

@lisachalik That lasts for 1-2 minutes. Then we rotate and do it again with a different pair until everyone in the class has met everyone else. I also participate so that I get to know the class at the same time. The positive energy in the room after you finish is palpable.

Looking for some classroom community-building ideas that will help students feel comfortable speaking up throughout the semester. Anyone have any great, non-awkward, engaging activities for the first day(s) of class?

@joejps84 Yeah, but if you restrict it to just Twitter Blue members, I bet you it comes out the other way.

@DCameron84 For good eats, you need College Town Bagels and a Shortstop Deli pizza sub. The Perfect Burger at Ithaca Ale House is also named accurately!
