@gvlgoals He's a big attacker, as well. Wonder if he'll be played wide or more centrally.

“Think not of the books you’ve bought as a ‘to be read’ pile. Instead, think of your bookcase as a wine cellar. You collect books to be read at the right time, the right place, and the right mood.” -Luc van Donkersgoed

@ProspectsUsmnt I think Everton would be a good landing spot, as well, as they are crying out for a player who can finish.

Everton, Sunderland, Leeds, West Ham named here as others interested. Fulham is the only one I think should be considered. Stable top flight club with a great history of American players.
Graeme Bailey@GraemeBailey

Fulham are working on a deal for PSV Eindhoven star Ricardo Pepi, but there is competition for the American, @TEAMtalk understands. Fulham also remain keen on Chelsea duo Raheem Sterling and Tyrique George. teamtalk.com/fulham/bid-rej…

@thatrossbloke I believe it's now just Doyle, Ualefi, Evan Lee, Tyler Polak and Brandon Fricke, unless Jake Keegan finds a home for one final year!

On this day in Monarchs history.... the legendary John Jordan 'Buck' O'Neil was born. Buck joined the Kansas City Monarchs in 1938 as a first baseman. Between 1937 and 1950, he had a career batting average of .288, including four .300-plus seasons. In 1946, Buck led the Negro American League with a .353 average and followed that in 1947 with a .350 mark in 16 games. He played in three East-West All-Star Games in three different seasons and two Negro World Series. After he served two years in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and 1945, he returned to the Monarchs at the start of the 1946 season. In 1948, he was named manager of the Monarchs and continued to play first base through 1951. He managed the team from 1948 to 1955, winning two league titles, and a shared title in which no playoff was held during that period. At the end of the 1955 season, he resigned and became a scout for the Chicago Cubs. After many years with the Cubs, he became a scout for the Kansas City Royals in 1988. He gained national prominence and appeared in countless interviews all over the nation. In 1990, he led the effort to establish the @NLBMuseumKC and served as its honorary board chairman until he passed. Before his passing, O'Neil signed a contract with the T-Bones to allow him to play in the Northern League All-Star Game. He was one of the oldest professional baseball players to play in a game. After his many lifetime achievements and awards, he was finally inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2021. There was no one quite like him. Buck paved the way for baseball as a player, coach, mentor, and friend. His legacy lives on with us here at the Monarchs and he will forever hold a special place in the hearts of so many. Let's tip our caps to the one and only, Buck O'Neil. Happy Birthday ⚾

@OleTimeHardball A rotation of Robin Roberts, Three Finger Brown, Early Wynn, Kid Nichols and Vida Blue wouldn't be shabby, either.
