Eight years ago today, Malaysians queued up at schools just like these.
Most of us didn’t actually think it would happen. We hoped. We showed up.
But deep down, many of us weren’t sure a single vote could change 61 years of the same government.
And then it did.
We did it.
Six years on, it’s hard to know how to feel about all of it.
A government that fell in 22 months.
Three prime ministers without a single election.
Another vote that gave us a unity government that, honestly, still doesn’t feel like what people queued up for back in 2018.
Reforms that were promised are either half-done or quietly forgotten. The feeling of “different faces, but a lot of the same feelings”.
I’ve had this conversation so many times now, with friends, with family, and I keep hearing the same thing.
“I’ve given up. The government disappoints me. The opposition isn’t any better.”
I don’t think that’s apathy. I think that’s what exhaustion sounds like after years of hoping.
But here’s the thing about political cycles.
They end.
And when they do, people who said they’ve given up somehow find themselves back at the polling station.
Pen in hand, doing the one thing that actually changed something once before.
We’re getting close to that moment again.
And if 2018 taught us anything, it’s that we’re more capable of surprising ourselves than we think.

INEOS kept on a manager they had no faith in, openly canvassing Europe for his successor but then armed him with £200m to spend on players he wanted, and changed the backroom staff before sacking him anyway. They axed a sporting director, whose way of working was well established, because he did not fit in with how they wanted him to work. He warned them about selecting a head coach attached to a fixed style of play, which didn’t suit the squad and how expensive it would be to build a quality 3-4-3. They didn’t listen, insisted they believed wholeheartedly in Ruben Amorim’s approach, but then wouldn’t fully back it in the transfer market and asked him to change the tactical principles that attracted them to him. Some “best in class” decision-making…

Well, it's happened. I've finally made it. A memo has clearly trickled down from the desk of the great M**k Zuck^&%$g himself, informing me that I have officially been classified as a "Bad Person" and my profile cannot be shared. My crime, it seems, was suggesting that the political ecosystem of Malaysia might be ever so slightly perturbed by the negative influence of political Islam and KMI ideologies.
There were many surat rungutan delivered to the F**B control room by the ever-vigilant KMI crowd, who were apparently so moved by my posts that they felt compelled to register their concerns with F*%$B.
Far from being upset, I am positively glowing. One doesn't receive this sort of attention unless one's posts are devastatingly on the mark. After all, vast resources are never marshalled to silence someone who is wrong. Remember many of these KMI are professionally cybertroopers and true-believers.
This is one of the top prize given out by F@B for being inconveniently correct.
I do wonder how long this prestigious honour will last- there is no information. In the meantime, I need your support. A follow and a repost would be most appreciated. Let's give them something to truly complain about, shall we?
Another reason why X is so much better ....

If you believe free speech is for you but not your political opponents, you're illiberal.
If no contrary evidence could change your beliefs, you're a fundamentalist.
If you believe the state should punish those with contrary views, you're a totalitarian.
If you believe political opponents should be punished with violence or death, you're a terrorist.

@SkySportsPL Hi Mr. Amorim, Who’s our starting 11 at present (Assuming Sesko signs). Also can Mount & Bruno play in the same team? Is there enough balance? Which Youth team player will be able to make their way into the 1st team in the near future? Thanks & praying we kick ass next season!

If you actually think Toronto will be top-6 in the East in anything other than “most fun place to visit” — let’s wager on it ASAP.
