Artificial Intelligence, Is there an area where we would replace city workers with AI? Any protections? Mamdani: Cuomo's housing policy was written by ChatGPT. I will find efficiencies. No more layoffs of workers. Tilson: AI will be a winner for NY. NY is second in to Silicon Valley. We need to stop the madness: Amazon. Wants permitting with AI. Cuomo: I am endorsed by unions. AI is an opportunity for economic development - new businesses, new jobs. We need to protect jobs. Myrie: my dad has worked in the city. We have vacancies and need to hire more. We need AI to help. Ramos: I wrote the law to protect artists, likeness etc. Put the power in worker's hands. We cannot be luddites. Workers need a say. Trumps attack on Columbia and their accreditation. Cuomo: two separate issues. Believes there is antisemitism in the city. This is another overreach of the administration. Trump is attacking democracy and we must stop. Tilson: Failure of Columbia to respond to mobs on campus. Mobs were incited by socialists. Mamdani: Trump overreaching. We need a mayor who will stand up, not someone who will collaborate with him. I will stand with working class. Blake: Discusses Palestine and Isreal, and Obama experience. Housing vacanies, what will you do about it? Tilson: unleash the private sector. Austin is a good case study. Fight NIMBYism. Speed up the process. 4-2 years. Opposite of Mamdani, no way we can do affordable housing. We do not want to look like CA. Cuomo: I did it in my 20's. Blow up HPD. Use vacant city land. I can get things done. Adams: Cuomo is disconnected with governance. City council has already created 120k units. So we are not bottle necking anything. City council is strong and works fast. Cuomo - responds about how to expidite. Myrie: We need better options, cheaper options. My plan is to build 1million homes in 10 years. Cuomo failed at this. Extend education, and afterschool programs. Price tag - no increase in taxes, work with private. Ramos: property tax is the biggest issue. Water rates are too high. Freeze the rent. Un-Warehouse the apartments and repair them. Bring back co-op city model. Attrack more service people through new housing models. Lander: I've done it for 3 decades. Renovating and build housing. I've championed new projects. I have a plan - use golf courses. Need pathways, work with HDP and Housing authority. Adams: I'm doing the work and have already delivered 1000 units to the people. Public education, 500,000 go to sleep hungry. We need places for safe living for children. Tilson: failure of public school is due to public operations. It's bad management, bad incentives and punishment. Charter schools are doing well. Cuomo: Chaos ensues. He touts his records. Need to work with DOE and evaluate consultants. New para professionals. Pay the professionals. Myrie: I am here because of our public schools, and went to Cornell. Think about after school, universal after schools. Give opportunities for new students. Ramos: I'm here because of Queens public schools. We need teacher centers, give immigrants more time to join communities, and funding. Lander: Our kids went to public school. I have a detailed plan: recruitment, growth we've seen in mental health. Make schools community schools. Adams: I'm an everyday NYer. Redeploy resources. It is difficult to work with DOE bureaucracy. Immigration scenarios with ICE telling hospitals to with hold care: Cuomo: you cannot give into Trump's demands. You fight him with a national coalition, beat him politically in the congress. Tilson: Ignore the tweets. Then sue to restore funding. Trump is appalling. I will fight. Mamdani: Our city is under attack from authoritarian. We deserve to have a Mayor that is not funded by billionaires. We need a mayor to provide services. We need to tell the institutions they will get funding through new taxes. Blake: We create protections by creating hospitals as safe havens. We expand the conversation, make NY a safe haven city. We will not tolerate attacks. Work with non profits. Stringer: My rainy day fund will give support to health care services. I fought in Trump 1. We never back down. Work with Dems in Washington. Bring confidence. We need someone with finances in the city. New question: Ice will stop immigrants outside of hospitals. Would you warn them? Adams: I've already done this. I refuse to erode sanctuary cities. All people need to feel safe. Yes I will use my bully pulpit. Lander: Quotes demographic statistics. 1 - every nyc employee needs to understand the sanctuary city laws, warning people. 2. create health centers. 3. other ways to protect immigrants. Ramos: responds in Spanish. We have to keep ice out of our institutions. Limit ICE interactions with police force. Immigrants should have legal representation. We need entry points for them to become part of our communities. Yes use tax payers money for legal services. Myrie: I grew up with asthma, when I went to the hospital with my undocumented parents, we would help those now. Regrets in you political career? Blake: dealing with the campaign finance committee. Mamdani: we need new leaders Tilson: I didn't see Bidens decline and call for his resignation earlier, handing Trump the presidency. Cuomo: Letting dems loose sense of reality, Trump elected. and people with no experience. But he does not any personal regrets? Adams attacks Cuomo's record. Cuomo responds but does not address the attacks. Sexual harassment question directed at Cuomo. Cuomo responds: People need the facts. The issues were political, many looked at it and found nothing. One case has been resolved. He says offending was unintentional. Myrie: He regrets not securing more funding for after care. He then attacks Cuomo on issues around money and aide during covid. Cuomo responds - we led during covid. We fought for PPE. Ramos: I regret running for mayor in 2021. Attacks Mamdani. Lander: I wish I got more housing. Attacks Cuomo on sexual harassment issues - city paying the bills. Cuomo responds that Lander was also sued for various issue. Lander says everything is a lie. Adams: believe that Mayor Eric Adams would be a good mayor. I had to save institutions and fight for the people. What will you do about e-bikes? Adams: We have to be careful, and consider the speed limits. Speed needs to be address. 15 mph. Lander: 17 mph. Food delivery companies need to address the problem. Sellers of mopeds need to held accountable: license and registration. Ramos: no criminal tickets, but we need speed limits and improve street design. Get them off the sidewalks. Abide by rules. Instruction in multiple languages. Myrie: New infrastructure, hold companies accountable. Enforce equally across all areas. Cuomo: this is dysfunctional city management. City has done nothing. Speed needs to come down. Make them registered by the apps, they should pay the tickets. Tilson: I'm the only one who rides a bike. Ebikes should have speed limits. With tickets they behave better. Mamdani: Attacks Cuomo - you cannot regulate companies that are giving your campaign money. We need to regulate. Cuomo responds, apps should be responsible. Blake: attacks Cuomo. We have to focus on speed limits, and reimagine what our city can be, make new infrastructure. Stringer: 15 mph is reasonable. Doordash campaign donation to Cuomo, is wrong. We should never do this again. Cuomo responds - I represent the working people of nyc, I have endorsements. Chaos: Stringer mentions fines.

How would you stop shop lifting and bail reform? Cuomo: major issue with Riker's Island Myrie: things need to change. I was robbed with my mom, and we have to ensure that all feel safe. Return police head count. Everyone should feel safe. Ramos: I've worked in the Senate to look at the issues. We need to consider other job opportunities. Mamdani: we need to bring up head count in police. They do too much mental health care work. For retail theft, we need to listen to workers, and we need police to hold them accounting. Blake: I supported previous efforts. Hold repeat offenders. We need more NYers keep money in their pocket, median income, guaranteed income. Stringer: I've seen it myself, this is wrong. Cops need to work on this. People who steal, we need to help them. Bail law, Cuomo didn't do it right. Adams: State has made changes. We need to go after ring leaders. We need to fill police vacancies, and bring better management. Lander: I have a plan on my website. Provide a panic button to retail stores. Drug treatment plans needs to be apart of the solution too. I will keep the police commissioner. Tilson: Bail reform went too far, and shocker it went up! Punish repeat offenders. Question on safety for transportation and subways. Myrie: I want police and teams. People are safe in every neighborhood. Cuomo: Others wanted to dismantle the police, now they are saying we need more. I will remove every homeless person off the subway and get them help. Confusion as candidates attack Cuomo for saying he said: "defund the police". Cuomo confirms. Tilson: Increase police in MTA. Reducing crime is fully staffed police. Make crime illegal. 30% of the poeople have criminal records. Mamdani: we will put together teams with mental health backgrounds. We have to listen to police, and there is too much overtime. Blake: We need 1000 mental health professionals. Police with body cameras can patrol outside. Blake accused Cuomo on sexual assault during his answer. Cuomo does not respond directly. Blake reinforces sexual assault. Stringer: Too much overtime, we need 3000 more cops. We need diverse citizens, and make it worth them. We need policing with mental health initiatives. Cuomo signed the wrong bills. Adams: I've never called for defunding the police. We must never defund. Take police out of mental health and social work. Lander: Presents story. Day 1 plan that addresses the issue through housing. Cuomo lied about a tweet that accuses him and his wife. #NYCDemocraticMayoralPrimaryDebate

Second question: How will you, the candidate, deal with #donaldjtrump vs #nyc? Cuomo: I've dealt with him before, I've fought him and won. I am the last person that Trump wants to see as mayor, therefore I should be your first choice. Mamdani: Trump will target any future mayor. I will fight back. Lander: I stood up to fight in the past, and I know how to respond through budget and management. Cuomo lied to Congress. I will stand up to Trump and budget will be ready to provide for NYC. Confusion starts as candidates attack Cuomo on the report that detailed deaths during covid Myrie: For people afraid of ICE, especially undocumented immigrants, I will stand up for you. We will work with Trump when it's good for the city, but we will be independent from the Fed Gov. Ramos: There is a good blue print on how to school Trump - Mexico. NY administration with litigate, and withhold federal taxes. We have to play chess. Our tax payer dollars are our leverage. Stringer: It's critical to elect a mayor with experience. Trump is coming for NYC. I fought him in the first term. Trump made we work better. We need a rainy day fund, that the banks and gov work together. I will not quid-pro-quo with Trump. Tilson: I've been fighting him since he came down the escalator. One area I do agree with, is that if socialists, like Zohran, tweets poorly about police, we have to move away from socialism. Mamdani responds that he has spoken with police to reform and enact change. Blake: I have the experience to address in NYC. We will withhold taxes, specifically with company that work in DC. We will ban ICE in schools and churches. With Obama experience I am ready day 1. Adams: Letitia James endorses me. We will sue Trump, and we are doing that now, to stop Trump from coming on Riker's Island. No Trump in my NY. #NYCDemocraticMayoralPrimaryDebate
