This is a very important movement for DBs to master. It’s not easy to break downhill at full speed and then completely change direction & open up again. DB drill to work on covering a sluggo. Type 1 - flip in, flip head to find receiver Type 2 - flip out (man turn)

Baltimore Ravens HC Jesse Minter - Empowering Assistant Coaches to Share Ideas "In my opinion it's the most important thing. NFL & College you might have 10/11 guys in a defensive room. We want to look at things in the same lens, have the same principles but I want everyone to also have their own ideas." "I think as a really good leader, one of the traits is to make everybody feel like they have the ability to share their ideas. I think you make everybody feel important that way, which raises the camaraderie & the morale of the room. And then when you take an idea, then you've got to be willing to give them credit for it and I think that's huge." "I think that's really important to really good culture. Making it about everybody, it's never about you, it's about the group. With group success comes individual success for everybody involved." "For young coaches it's understanding that those moments are great opportunities to learn. Don't be afraid to share an idea, don't be mad when your idea may or may not be taken. Eventually you will get to that point where you get a chance to make the decisions and looking at it like a long term process instead of a quick rise up."

From @angelaganote "I’ve had a handful of you share videos with me asking if I know what happened at Grand Park in Westfield yesterday. We are reaching out to Westfield Police to try to find out if anyone was arrested or seriously injured during this fight that broke out during The Pylon 7v7 Tournament. Those that reached out are concerned that coaches of 14 and 15-year-olds are fist fighting over football. An eyewitness told me this started after a parent of a local Indiana team threw a punch at a team out of Chicago. Two other eyewitnesses say it was the other way around! And someone from the Chicago team punched the Indiana coach 1st. You may remember in Arizona last month a fight broke out at another 7V7 tournament where police say more than 100 people were involved. I’ll let you know when we get details from Westfield Police"

I wonder how many of the IHSA School Administrators arguing to move the start date of 🏈 up to August 5th in the name of player safety, voted for the original proposal with an August 10th start date? I find it interesting player safety is a concern now, but wasn't when the original proposal passed.

@UPS So why did you remove a contact number to resolve problems??? 1 package late 2 days in a row now and 1 1 day late... SO FAR. Do all customers get treated this way or is it just customers at the end of a route that get packages when you get around to it???

We did it again!👏👏👏 Put your hands together for our dedicated team of UPSers. They totally nailed it - 8 years in a row, we led the industry in average on-time performance for the holiday season. According to ShipMatrix, we had a 97.2% on-time delivery rate in December 2025 – that's higher than both our biggest competitors.

One coach… “People don’t realize the impact that changing the football schedule has on so many other things.” Homecoming. Senior Night. Non-conference games. Sure, but did you think of the impact of move games up a week and the stadium is booked for soccer or flag football? No those schedules have to change. Those programs have to move those games, times, dates, etc. Officials have their schedules already, are there conflicts now? Now you have to find a new crew for Week 4. See where I’m going with this? ———- 377 schools said “YES” without thinking of what they’re doing to ADs and coaches across Illinois and all because their 3-win football team wants validation. Insane.

@TrustTrost In summary: High school football players in Illinois cannot wear microphones in their helmets during games, as it is considered illegal equipment under NFHS rules. Another rule that needs to be changed.

The IHSA is sending yellow card reports to schools, alerting them if they get to 25 yellow cards their program will be banned from the state series. Is the IHSA sending holding penalties or personal-foul reports to schools, alerting football teams if they get to a combined 25 that they’ll be banned from the state playoffs? Is the IHSA sending personal fouls or technical or intentional foul reports to schools, alerting basketball teams if they get to a combined 25 that they’ll be banned from the state tournament? Is the IHSA sending hit-by-pitch reports to schools, alerting baseball teams if they get 25 that they’ll be banned from the state series? Multiple programs - statewide - are cancelling games again. They’re doing it again because adult leaders throughout Illinois let kids down by not fixing this rule last year, because no one stepped up to do the official work. A lot of talk and no results. Welcome to the same damn hamster wheel of education. Unless it personally impacts a school, no one steps up to help all kids because educators many of times are spinning left and right all year long. There is no other way to put it except this: This is pure discrimination - the unjust treatment of different categories of people. The IHSA only bans high school soccer players and teams in Illinois for in-game fouls. How are we allowing in-game fouls to impact whether or not kids and schools get to participate in a statewide event in one sport and it is not done in ANY other sport in Illinois? Read that again: This doesn’t happen in ANY other high school sport in Illinois. The IHSA made the right move during the basketball playoffs last winter by suspending players over residency fraud and not banning the entire Kenwood team from the boys basketball tournament. I say this time and time again: You think this would hold up in court? It wouldn’t. Ask any lawyer. I have. It’s pure discrimination against a group of kids under the same IHSA roof.

All night long, I’ve been talking to school leaders throughout Illinois - statewide. There is a very consistent theme: The IHSA knows it is close to losing its control. For years, it has controlled and owned student athletes and their families - especially on Sundays. It took the IHSA suspending an innocent freshman cross-country runner with autism for the season, because he took part in a Sunday 5K charity race to benefit a local hospital that treated his sister, to ignite a fire that was then fanned by families receiving little or no response from the IHSA. The Right To Play Act is not at this point, because someone is out to get the IHSA. It’s because if this is how we’re going to impact kids and treat families, then there needs to be something to help kids and families, too. At times, I’ve defended the IHSA. It’s not an easy position or role. It’s not. I’ve also been telling you - for years - this was coming in terms of people saying why can’t I do this - especially on Sundays? In the courtroom: The IHSA has lost three consecutive court cases, a first in its history. Now just weeks away from the #ILSen voting on the Right To Play Act becoming law, where high school student athletes would have two (2) waivers a school year to use to take part in outside school events, the IHSA is moving. Think about that. We shouldn’t be here, but we are. And you know why we are…whether you agree or disagree with Springfield being involved. It makes you question whether this is to help kids and families or really to retain control?
