@BYUSportsNation YES! I could accept one or maybe two regular-season losses, but three is unacceptable. Some games can be nail-biters, and those are FUN, but BYU usually comes out on top. 10, 11, or 12 wins this season, baby!

QOTD: ESPN’s Bill Connelly’s projections have BYU’s record at 9-3 for the 2026 season. Would 9-3 be a failure?

@Ch_JesusChrist @UchtdorfDF Could you comment on the criminal and corrupt actions in the Bricks & Minifigs scandal including the company ownership and the American Forks Police Department? All involved perpetrators are members of your Church. Is theft, corruption and collusion permitted?

@CriddleBenjamin I posted this elsewhere, but it's ironic that ESPN fell all over themselves to be independent BYU's media partner. However, they made sure to omit BYU's relevant data for CFP evaluation.

Still wild to me that BYU’s longtime media partner, ESPN, left BYU’s résumé out of the CFP discussion entirely this past year. BYU fans and even BYU’s official accounts had to photoshop BYU’s résumé into the conversation on social media in order for the general public to opine and get in on the convo 🤦🏼‍♂️ 😅

Objectively, how do you defend this: Miami (10–2) – ESPN SOS: 45 – ESPN SOR: 14 – Did not play for a conference championship – Losses: Two 8–4 teams (SMU, Louisville) BYU (11–2) – ESPN SOS: 22 – ESPN SOR: 9 – Played in the Big 12 championship – Losses: No. 4 Texas Tech on the road & in the Big 12 title game Notre Dame (10–2) – ESPN SOS: 44 – ESPN SOR: 13 – Did not play for a conference championship – Losses: Miami (who lost to two 8–4 teams) & No. 7 Texas A&M

@jjfuller72 This info definitely establishes suspicion. Ironic how ESPN fell all over themselves to cut a broadcast deal with an independent BYU, but deliberately (and consistently) hide data to keep the Cougars out of the playoffs. BYU is a great team only when it fits their agenda.

🤦‍♂️ "Some CFP metrics last season had BYU higher than the committee’s rankings, according to people who saw the data" Don't want to overreact to this (and Sitake is a much more patient man than I) but it sure seems like the CFP committee uses the metrics when they confirm their prior biases (or their media partner's desires,) and use "the eye test" when they don't. Also, the CFP committee has been at the SEC meetings both of the last 2 years to present data and receive feedback. Is this something they provide for all conferences? Maybe it is and I'm unaware, but I don't recall any other coaches/conferences mentioning that the CFP committee presented data at their meetings like the SEC (and I follow this stuff pretty closely). If not, why? Is it a de facto strategy meeting?

✍️ Everything I heard from Big 12 meetings: - Eye-rolls over an SEC breakaway - Reaction to Joey McGuire's Texas challenge - 10 conference games + a lot more "I’m tired of people talking about they want rules until the rule applies to them." Free story: nytimes.com/athletic/73251…

Which P4 schools got the highest percentage of their athletic revenue directly from conference distributions in FY25? Using MFRS Total Revenue data for each public schools (EADA data for private schools) I subtracted away each school's reported conference distributions to get a clearer view into how much "self-generated" revenue each athletic department procured. Obviously this is murky and impercise since each conference has certain brands/fanbases that drive the lion's share of the media value. Additionally, many schools receive significant portions of their revenue from subsidies such as student fees and direct/indirect institutional support. Another "quirk" of this analysis is that schools from the bigger payout conferences (Big Ten/SEC) "look worse" since they have such a big payout (which not one of them is complaining about in the slightest). Avg Payout per Conf for reference: Big Ten: ~$78M SEC: ~$72M ACC: ~$45M Big12: ~$40M Pac-12: ~$29M American: ~$9M MWC: ~$9M MAC: ~$2.5M Sun Belt: ~$2M CUSA: ~$2M The 8 schools (OU, Texas, BYU, Cincy, UCF, Cal, Stanford, and SMU) with the lowest % all changed conferences recently and agreed to take a partial share for a period of time. @jjfuller72 @jlkurtz The data analyses are either suspect or solid. That the reporters willfully exclude BYU metrics from even being displayed makes the SEC complaints appear as crybaby responses.

Geez The propaganda machine is in full swing already… BYU/TTU taking strays for having better resumes/seasons than SEC “bubblish” teams (mainly Vandy/Texas) So we are supposed to trust the metrics when they favor SEC teams and trust “the human element” when they don’t? Got it? Guess it wasn’t enough to leave BYU completely off the graphics… gotta rewrite history and downplay their CFP snub(s) altogether… BYU had a SOS equal to Vandy and better than Ole Miss, and much better SOR than Vandy/Texas too.

@jlkurtz Until Tech is de-throned, they're still #1. If that happens, BYU seems the best replacement candidate. Utah is strong, but with the significance coaching change there is uncertainty. Houston is a "let's see how it goes."

Texas Tech looked like the obvious Big 12 favorite before the Brendan Sorsby situation got messy. Do the Red Raiders still hold the top spot in my Post-Spring Big 12 Power Rankings? And I'm buying one of last year's bottom feeders to make a move this year. (Link in replies)

Wow, lot's of opinions and negative comments toward the Church for partnering with UNICEF. Shall we do a reality check? As a full-time Humanitarian Missionary serving in Thailand, however doing humanitarian and welfare projects for Pakistan, part of the Asia area, I'll share a few insights you might not be aware of. And perhaps some commentary. 1- If you don't know the inner workings of Church Welfare and Humanitarian Services, get educated before you judge to harshly. *Read "Doing Small Things With Great Love" by Sharon Eubank. 2- Most of the $ the Church spends on Humanitarian aid is not with large orgs like UNICEF. Look at the latest church report - Caring for Those in Need 2025 Report. Over 1.5 billion spent. 3- Most of the $ the Church spends on Humanitarian is with local partners, governments, vetter NGOs, local church congregations, and other local organizations. 4- The Church strictly vets each partner and each project (including those with UNICEF). Hundreds if not thousands of Senior Missionaries like my wife and I greatly support this work, working with paid church employees from the Welfare and Humanitarian departments. 5- Sr. Missionaries and church staff visit these projects, evaluate them, evaluate the partners. When we find poor partners, we discontinue work with them. We are constantly looking for the best partners. 6- The Church is focused on finding and serving the world's poor and underserved, just as the Savior did and asks us to do. 7- We need more Sr. Missionaries to support this work, and fewer critics. Many high need opportunities are now available on the Sr. Mission site (40+ year olds without dependent children are eligible), site and for service missionaries. Come join the fun, and make a difference. Help us find better partners, and do more impactful work. 8. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the 7th largest financial doner in the world for humanitarian aid. Ahead of the USA and UK Governments, and most all others. This is unheard of for a religious organization. I love what @Ch_JesusChrist is doing to bless the poor and vulnerable of all creeds, races, and religions. Are we doing it perfectly, no. Are we striving to do the will of the Savior, yes! And we will continue to improve and do more. My unasked for advice: Get out of the bleachers and stop yelling at the refs. This is a game where everyone is invited to strap on their helmets and join the work! Come on, get in the game! May God bless you my brothers and sisters in Christ!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is contributing US$25 million to a @UNICEF effort that provides nutrition to millions of children and mothers around the world. The donation supports the Child Nutrition Fund (CNF), a global initiative that works to prevent and treat malnutrition. Through a matching challenge announced in 2025, the Church’s contribution will generate an additional $25 million, bringing the total impact to $50 million. This contribution will help the fund reach up to 320 million children and women each year by 2030 with proven, lifesaving interventions, including support for programs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Nigeria, the Philippines and Sierra Leone. My fellow dudes on x, I need to ask you a favor. My wife has discovered a new hobby, landscaping. We've spent $2,000 on plants, dirt, bark over the last 2 weeks. I'm sunburned, and out of ibuprofen I need this post go viral so I can pay for all this. Why couldn't she have chosen sourdough bread? Or crochet? Or triathlons?
