The EPA is being gutted by Trump while deadly wildfires are on the rise and flood insurance becomes even more unaffordable. Climate denial is not just bad science. It is an act of violence against our communities and our future.

@PramilaJayapal The majority of wildfires in mountain states are caused by an overgrowth of brush. If that brush were removed, the wildfires would have a less chance of spreading. But the regulations by those states will not allow the forestry departments to change that.

A historic Black cemetery in Palmetto, Florida, was vandalized, with graves damaged and “Trump” and “DeSantis” spray-painted across tombstones. Our ancestors deserve dignity in life and in death. Desecrating sacred burial grounds is hateful, painful, and unacceptable. We must protect Black history and honor the families impacted by this cruelty.

We have the power to mitigate wildfire risk in California. We also have the power to speed up recovery when fires happen. As Governor, I will hold public utilities accountable for actually doing the maintenance work they've been putting off for decades, and I'll take on insurers who are ripping off families and refusing to pay out claims.
