Britain already controls nearly £500bn in Local Government Pension assets, yet it is split across 98 separate funds with duplicated costs and no unified national investment strategy. We should consolidate this in to a British Sovereign Wealth Fund, professionally managed with a clear mandate: deliver strong long-term returns while backing Britain’s economic renewal. With a 6.5% target return, it could generate around £25bn a year for reinvestment into strategic industries, domestic energy, housing and infrastructure. That is how serious nations build long-term wealth and economic security.
