We were delighted to host @jessphillips, Safeguarding Minister from the Home Office, at Missing People last week. Jess met with the team who deliver our vital helpline and family support services, as well as people with lived experience of being missing or having a loved one missing. It's brilliant to have a Minister who's got experience of working with missing people, and who really understands the challenges they face.

We had the honor of welcoming MP Jess Phillips to congratulate the newly elected class MPs. One of the first actions from their manifestos is to improve recycling within the school! Thank you to @JessPhillips and @UKParlEducation for supporting our #youngleaders of tomorrow!

I was incredibly proud to speak Bethany Rae Fields' name at Prime Minister’s questions today in Parliament. Bethany was murdered outside her workplace in 2019 by her ex-partner. Bethany approached the police multiple times before her murder and this brutal killing should never have happened. Her Mum, Pauline, and her entire family, show incredible strength as they campaign to create a lasting legacy in her name. Pauline's campaign aims for Bethany’s initials BRF—"Believe, React, Fast"—to become a standard approach for authorities in handling stalking and abuse cases, shaping related policy, legislation, and guidance. I’m proud to back her campaign and I was delighted to sit down with Pauline and the Minister for Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girl, Jess Phillips, to discuss this heartbreaking case. As the Prime Minister said in response to my question today, the Government is committed to halving violence against women and girls. I’m encouraged by new steps to improve support for victims, including embedding domestic abuse experts in 999 control rooms. There’s more to do, and I look forward to continued government reforms on this critical issue.

The Home Office’s treatment of the Windrush generation shamed our country. We will make sure the voices of the Windrush community are heard and systemic changes are made. It is time for a fundamental re-set. It is time to right the wrongs of Windrush. My piece in the @DailyMirror mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

@KateEMcCann Used to be able to use it to find people across the country affected by a thing you might have come across locally once or twice, to guage if it was a system problem, it was an amazing tool for that. Now wouldn't work, think we still need that tool though

Starting to wonder if using this space to post interviews etc is worth it anymore. More often than not now my notifications are flooded with abuse from people who haven't listened/watched/read the interview or article but who aim personal insults regardless (even if the work isn't actually mine). It used to be worth using X as a reporting tool - to post updates on stories or info which people might find useful through the day but increasingly I dread pressing send on here because the response will almost always be abuse. While I don't have notifications on for X, or spend a lot of time looking at replies, the predictability of this is now is making me tune out. Why bother? It's a shame, because I still think X can be a useful tool for reporters and those who want instant news and analysis but it also used to be a space full of people with interesting things to say - now it's mostly mean and bitter. All for criticism, debate and chat but just lobbing insults diminishes X for everyone. Not sure what the answer is.

@jessphillips @YvetteCooperMP Cracking on trying to give 'modern trafficked slaves' their 'victim status' Wow, talk about empowerment. Ah but wait, read a little further, what do these 'survivors' get once given 'victim status'? Yes, a free house, extra benefits and lots of support Go for it Jess, crack on

Christopher Chope is not a serious person. No one should be surprised by stupidity it's a regular occurrence. Luckily he's as influential as an empty space.
