This is what real consequences for animal cruelty look like: 4 years behind bars, $65,000 in fines, and a nationwide ban on chaining dogs.
Italy just passed one of the strictest animal protection laws in its history.
Under the Brambilla Law, anyone who tortures or kills an animal faces up to 4 years in prison and fines up to $65,000, double the previous penalties. The law took effect July 1, 2025 and bans permanently chaining dogs outdoors across the country.
For the first time, animals are recognized as legal subjects, not property. Organizing animal fights brings 2 to 4 years in prison. Puppy trafficking can mean up to 18 months. Filming animal cruelty online is now a crime, with harsher penalties if minors are involved. Abandoning an animal can cost up to $11,000.
The Italian Senate passed it unanimously, and animal welfare groups across Europe are calling it a model for others to follow. 🇮🇹🐶

🐾 Florida teen arrested after sheriff says he attacked family member and harmed puppy
North Fort Myers, Florida: Authorities say 13-year-old Alexander Chambers was taken into custody after allegedly choking a puppy inside a home. Investigators say when a family member intervened, Chambers then allegedly struck that person with a rock and chased them with a knife. The family member suffered a minor injury, and thankfully, the puppy was not hurt. 🙏
Chambers faces charges of animal cruelty and two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice, where he is being held for 21 days.
📌 We do not typically show images of minors. However, in this case, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office released the teen’s mug shot to the public.

Too many are too polite to say this. But mass ritual prayer in public places is an act of domination. The adhan - which declares there is no god but allah and Muhammad is his messenger - is, when called in a public place, a declaration of domination. Perform these rituals in mosques if you wish. But they are not welcome in our public places and shared institutions. And given their explicit repudiation of Christianity they certainly do not belong in our churches and cathedrals. I am not suggesting everybody at Trafalgar Square last night is an Islamist. But the domination of public places is straight from the Islamist playbook. Trafalgar Square belongs to all of us. It is a national memorial to our independence and our salvation. Last night was not like a televised football match or a St Patrick’s Day celebration. It was an act of domination and therefore division. It shouldn’t happen again.

We went to check out the dog that was being beat on Skid Row. The abuser said he gave the dog to somebody. I hope the dog is alive. He has other dogs that he is breeding and we were able to rescue this baby. She goes to the vet tomorrow and we are concerned she is pregnant. 💔

A few weeks ago I bought a nature reserve as it was at risk of being turned into housing. I’ve been massively stressed about it ever since as there’s so much that I need to do to maintain it. Seeing a photo of these deer that someone took on the reserve makes it all worthwhile.

How much is President Trump willing to forgive Putin? He’s helping the Iranians attempt to kill Americans, and Trump doesn’t seem all that bothered by it at all. It’s not even worth some harsh words. We’ve seen the president rage on Truth Social about Fed Chair Jerome Powell, actor and director Rob Reiner, or New York Times journalists who he keeps giving exclusive interviews. But no matter what Putin does, Trump never seems to get all that angry about him.
