@MikeAWheeler @ollie190817 Is it possible to "destroy" any of the public DC courses? They are an embarrassment. NLT spent 6 years courting donors and creating a public facade, then blamed NPS when the Trump admin started asking questions a year of so ago. NLT couldn't execute, so it got fired.

@Jesse583443 @ollie190817 Brother I’ve followed this for years. NPS is not running it, NLT is. There is a legal process you have to go through to renovate and that is what was holding NLT up. Instead of helping NLT, they are going to destroy this unless you have $$$.

This is awful for DC golf. Most accessible track if you live in DC and by far most accessible driving range. I don’t k is how a judge hasn’t filed an injunction given the default and cancellation of the lease were bogus.

@MikeAWheeler @ollie190817 It's a bad course, Mike. That's ok to admit. NPS wasn't getting it done, let's hope the Trump admin does. Ideally this will be a memorial park-type course -- high quality golf, low price for residents.

@Jesse583443 @ollie190817 Then tell NPS to approve the plans NLT already has. If you want high end golf go to any of the high end courses outside the city where the rounds are $100+. I play those too but if I just want to play an easier track or practice east Potomac is the best for that.

Shout-out to William Doffermyre, Solicitor of the Department of the Interior, who is the person primarily responsible for pushing the National Links Trust out of its management of East Potomac Golf Course, and for scuttling a planned Tom Doak restoration in favor of an absolutely ridiculous Tom Fazio blow-up that will result in D.C. golf becoming less affordable and accessible. Doffermyre is allegedly very interested in becoming a big muckety-muck in the golf world. Good luck with that, Bill!

@MikeAWheeler Yes, I do. So does the Department of Interior (duh) who wisely ended the lease after NLT totally failed to execute. Hopefully the awesome work Fazio and the admin do on these courses will heal your TDS in a few years 😉

NEWS: East Potomac Golf is expected to shut down on Sunday after the last tee time as the Trump administration officially takes it over. Renovations will start at a later date once compliance has been met. Tom Fazio expected to lead the renovation. Additionally, the admin has offered the National Links Trust a renewed lease for Rock Creek Park Golf with a waiver for unpaid rent. notus.org/trump-white-ho…

@garrett_TFE Tenant is surprised landlord ends lease after the landlord gives notice the tenant is violating the terms of the lease months ago. What planet do you live on, Garrett? For the sake of the DC golf community, this may finally result in decent public golf in the area.
