@conservmillen Catholic schools are much more liberal than other Christian schools. Maybe these facts ‘used’ to be true, but Catholicisim has veered to the left a bit. Just look at the Pope.

This is a common assumption, but it is not true. Statistically, Catholics are much more pro-choice (and pro-every other liberal cause) than Protestants. We have a lot of work to do in both camps.

One issue that I have to admittedly hand to the Catholics: Sola Scriptura really did lead to Protestant denominations accepting abortion and then falling apart. Yes, it’s a failure to follow the Bible properly, I agree. Yes, they disregarded the Bible and church history. But if someone doesn’t know church history or was never taught it, then they won’t know that the church has forbidden abortion for 2000 years. They actually think it’s acceptable to say “the Bible never mentions abortion!” as if mountains of documents opposing it somehow don’t exist. I know those people don’t care about it. And yes, I know the Catholic Church has failed to catechize its laity as large percentages of Catholics support abortion worldwide, which should be unthinkable. But at least they do have teachings against it from as early as AD 50. Many “evangelical pastors” are afraid of even mentioning it in a sermon for fear of offending someone.
