@AshleyH20478948 Many people believe they should mind their own business and are scared they’ll get attacked if they intervene. This woman was Asian and 65 years old, dealing with intersecting identities that make her vulnerable #SUsocialwork

@chelseasosaSU We need to advocate for policy change to reform the juvenile detention system. It is not an efficient approach to crime prevention or discipline #SUsocialwork

Many who experience these traumatic stress events do not receive the proper recovery they need. Feelings get masked and internally these individuals are suffering. Trauma does not discriminate. Protect the mental health of these victims normalize mental health care. #Susocialwork

A 2019 analysis found the Denver area has the 3rd-most mass shootings, per capita, of the biggest metro areas since 1999. Experts say there’s a cumulative effect: The circle of survivors—who may face a lifetime of recovery—grows larger with each tragedy. trib.al/s4LJE8G

@Cassi93810471 Yes! Often they act out in their behaviors and are disciplined when really they are just stressed and acting out because of exhaustion or anxiety and just need to rest or take a break #SUsocialwork

Advocating for mental health days for children is something I have always been in support of. Children experience mental health challenges just as adults do. It is important to recognize and support them.

Some parents are not aware of services and accommodations that are offered by the school system such as individualized education plans. We must advocate for children & parents to have access & bring public awareness of resources available #SUsocialwork

@DrAPOwens I understand the need to relax and take a break from stressful school and work life but they need to stay responsible and think of others as well. This will probably lead to increased Covid cases. #SUsocialwork

@bartone_m I heard someone say diversity is being invited to the party but inclusion is being asked to dance and I thought that was a great simple way of explaining the difference, especially to people who are unfamiliar or just now examining these concepts #SUsocialwork

This article sums it up perfectly, we cannot be diverse on all the different level of systems without being inclusive. It is ridiculous that employment placements are just reevaluating their policies put into effect and changing them to be more inclusive. Do better #SUSocialWork
