@JordanConcanno2 I agree, interventions might be a very good idea at addressing this problem mentioned here! And it can be catered to the target population to change the behavior. #SUSocialWork

Thank you for sharing this article. It is crazy and upsetting to see people believe the major welfare program myths. These myths put a stigma around welfare programs and this needs to be changed. This article helps shine light on what is fact vs. what is myth. #SUSocialwork

@allisonelewis11 I agree Allison! COVID-19 has had so many negative impacts overall on people’s health. It’s a great sight to see more people becoming advocates or educating themselves on this pressing issue! #SUSocialWork

@bartone_m I heard someone say diversity is being invited to the party but inclusion is being asked to dance and I thought that was a great simple way of explaining the difference, especially to people who are unfamiliar or just now examining these concepts #SUsocialwork

This article sums it up perfectly, we cannot be diverse on all the different level of systems without being inclusive. It is ridiculous that employment placements are just reevaluating their policies put into effect and changing them to be more inclusive. Do better #SUSocialWork

The amount of anti-Asian violence that has gone unnoticed by society in the past year and couple weeks alone is saddening. The fact that it has been swept under the rug with article titles that don’t mention hate crimes is gross and needs to change. #SUSocialWork
Insider@thisisinsider

Anti-Asian violence skyrocketed during the pandemic. In his first address to the nation, President Biden said it was “wrong and un-American.” But anti-Asian racism has long been a part of US history. It's just been historically invisible. insider.com/anti-asian-vio…

@DrAPOwens It upsets me that in the midst of a pandemic, some students are not taking guidelines seriously and practicing social distancing. I understand people need to relax, but for a state to declare that reflects negatively overall. #SUSocialWork

@MichaelWilmotS1 This makes my heart happy. Emergency shelters are important within communities. It’s especially nice to see them create more during this pandemic when getting into emergency or homeless shelters is so difficult due to COVID-19. #SUSocialWork

google.com/amp/s/www.wsj.… this article made me very upset because I took for granted my privileges during this quarantine and seeing that people with disabilities are being affected negatively but isn’t shown to the public directly is upsetting! #SUsocialwork

@allisonelewis11 this is an outrage! Especially during this time we should be open to letting social workers who are trying to receive licensure to assist should be allowed. Social workers are needed more than ever now! #SUsocialwork

Social workers that are trying to receive licensure to be able to assist during this pandemic, but due to closing of small businesses& limited spots for test taking, it has hindered this process and made it more difficult. #SUSocialWork marylandmatters.org/2020/04/15/opi…
