@JessicaGoeken I am so happy you got to do that! There are some musicians that just move you, and he is one of them. I had a similar experience seeing Tony Bennett. One of the greatest nights of my life so far.

Shared culture is not limited to books. Share the music too. Classical music, folk songs, regional favorites, and yes, even pop culture touchstones. My kids have seen Elvis on the Ed Sullivan show. They know who Paul McCartney is. They enjoy Buck Owens and John Denver. But they also know the Wellerman, Amazing Grace, and Bach. It’s all important.

@hannahcenters I didn’t know that! I saw him in concert in high school and it was an unforgettable experience.

@JessicaGoeken You brought up a memory for me. Marsalis did a series of videos back in the late 90s I think. We used to watch them whenever we had a substitute teacher for band and choir. I want to show them to my kids!

@O_Dickerson3 They’re hilarious. I pulled up the heating plate to unearth them and get this picture and they all started panicking at the giant monster in the sky. Even though they come out and see me when I go talk to them 🤷‍♀️

@uppityhobbit No idea. It’s weird because Etsy doesn’t have my payment info. This person literally stole my email address and bought themselves something with their own card. At least, not one of my cards. Now I have their name and address and I changed my password so they can’t get back in.

@AlaskanKate It was my favorite when I first read them in high school. I still love it though it’s slid down the list a bit.

I distinctly remember giving up on this one on my first attempt (I did eventually read it all but remember nothing) and it’s clearly almost untouched from the set but one of my friends says it’s her favorite. Off we go!
