Every Monday me and Jessi would sit down to record the Bardown Beauties Podcast. This morning my phone buzzed with a notification that the record is coming up, except today it’s not. Logging onto my computer, sitting at my desk with my microphone where we recorded was another hard thing I haven’t yet done but have to continue to do. I know me and so many others are feeling this, it’s cruel that the world doesn’t stop when terrible things happen even when we desperately beg for it to. The world keeps moving even when we feel like we can’t. All we can do is continue to try to move forward the best we can. My heart hurts for everyone today just doing their best to make it through the day. But for as long as I can, I’ll keep my Monday podcast record notifications on because it reminds me of how much special time I was able to share with Jessi weekly.

The hockey community is truly amazing and instantly took action to ask how they could help support Jessi’s family. Here is a donation link created by the family to help. Thank you so much to everyone for the amazing tributes and support shown. Jessi and her family was so loved 🤍 gofund.me/7cd9f55b7

Family isn’t always blood, but the people you choose and that couldn’t have been more true. Jessi was like another big sister to me. She had a confidence and a way of being able to talk to anyone that I envied. She had an unmatched work ethic and a huge heart. Any time I needed help, needed to rant, or needed someone she was there without hesitation. Most importantly, she was the best mom and loved her kids and family fiercely. She brought me into her world and introduced me to her family and friends and I’m so grateful she did. Hudson, Cayden and Avery were the best kids and I’m so grateful she let me be part of their lives. The visits on game days, being able to come to their house and hang out with the family are memories I cherish. There’s not enough pictures, videos, memories I can share in one post. There’s so much more I want to say that I can’t find the words for yet. I hope you know how loved you are and could see the outpouring of love for you and your family from the hockey community today. I hope you know how much I love you and how missed you will be. Thank you for everything. Please keep Mike, the family, and everyone who loved Jessi in your prayers.

Just saw the news about @jessi_pierce - absolutely in shock. I had just met her on our last road trip, but we immediately connected. She had this wonderful, vivacious, warm nature about her, even to people she just met like me. Thinking of all her friends and family. Just gutted.

Absolutely devastated to hear about the loss of Jessi Pierce and her beautiful kids. She was everything you could ever want out of a colleague, friend, and fellow woman in hockey and more. Funny, kind, unabashedly herself, passionate, so loving and so loved. Sending love to MN

On my dear friend and colleague Jessi Pierce. A wonderful reporter and an even better mom. She set a standard on how to do it all. I will miss her.

A beautiful tribute to a wonderful soul. I had the pleasure of working beside Jessi on multiple occasions while in Minnesota and she always, without fail, would brighten the day. Life is cruel. Life is not fair. And this is an unspeakable loss.

There are no words to express how heartbroken we all are. Jessi Pierce (Hinrichs) was the most vibrant person - the life of the party, always with a smile on her face, always bringing a passion to every article and podcast and interview she did. Jessi simply loved covering the Wild and hockey throughout Minnesota and had a way of brightening everyone’s day with her upbeat, bubbly personality. I have literally NEVER met anybody that had a way of being EVERYBODY’s friend. More than anything, she absolutely loved Hudson, Cayden and Avery and was the greatest mother who did everything she could to bring joy to her sweetest kids. Even at Friday’s practice in her beloved Iowa State sweatshirt, she was so excited to take them to the seasonal opening of Cup and Cone in WBL. Seeing those precious pics yesterday, she provided them with another incredibly fun and loving day. My heart breaks for Mike for the loss of his wife and children and Jessi’s family, friends and colleagues for this unimaginable loss. This hockey community lost a wonderful, energetic and one of a kind voice and story teller and Grade A person. Life can be unbearably unfair sometimes, and it’s impossible to make sense of this tragedy. Please keep Jessi and her beautiful kids in your thoughts and prayers. I wish Mike all the peace and support and happiness in the world. A lot of tears were shed at the arena yesterday. We, in the Wild media and inside the Wild, will miss seeing Jessi everyday, laughing with her everyday. The press box and press room won’t be the same without her. It’ll be a lot quieter, a lot less funny. But her passion and joy for covering this hockey team and sport will remain. Sorry for the length of this, but as Jessi knew better than most as my original Athletic “backup” and somebody who always gave me Minnesota Hockey Journal deadline extensions, as she used to joke, I’m incapable of writing tight. Especially about her. RIP Jessi, Hudson, Cayden and Avery. 🙏💔

Just devastating news. Jessi was always a ton of fun to have on the show & enjoyed watching her coverage & how much she loved doing it. She will be deeply missed as will her children whom she adored. Tragic. RIP to them all.
