It was my mistake to assume that the Vedant kid was a fake handle. It was because the account was newly created, had "South Asia" in the bio, and got good engagement in a very short time. Usually, that only happens when an account is planted. For example, this Cockroch account. Most such accounts are fake. They don't do engagement farming- their intention is to provoke and incite youths.

A new intern in Faridabad posted pictures of the city to show the poor condition of a “smart city” within NCR. According to his tweets, he then received threat calls for posting those pictures. After that, he began posting photos of the better parts of Faridabad and even said he had been wrong earlier and that Faridabad is actually good. If all this is true*, it once again reflects how administrations, irrespective of who rule them, across India react to criticism: shoot the messenger. Threaten them, malign them, call them agents of the other party, say “badnaam karne ke liye paisa aaya hai,” accuse them of conspiring to malign the great ancient state/city of and its people, file an FIR claiming such tweets can cause unrest among the great people of great ancient state/city of . The motto seems to be: if you can’t manage the issue, manage the headlines. *I’m adding this disclaimer because the issue is based on someone else’s tweet. I don’t want to get a call from the Faridabad administration asking why I maligned the great ancient city of Faridabad and its people.
